I read an Interview with Page and believe that someone had a flying V. Page borrowed it and recorded "you shook me" on it. He couldn't afford it at that time but got a great tone with the thing.

Interesting, and would explain how it would have been super easy to do that super high slide parts before the organ solo, based on the v body shape

Page play this on a Telecaster I the studio, not a Gibson flying V.

Joe Walsh sold Jimmy a Gibson Les Paul Standard which he loved but that wasn't till after this album

thanks - yeah I have to say I think it is really great. I advocate the tan tolex one if you go with the deluxe version, the speaker is different and I think sounds better than the black one. but the whole series I'm super impressed with (twin, super reverb and princeton reverb). So much upside to those amps for the money and super easy to use unlike a whole lot of digital amps

I was just Thinking of a great one, just heard it the other day: FEARLESS, Pink Floyd... , I use to do something similar in an Open Tuning, probably DADGAD, as I really Dig it, playing the same Notes on a Low String and High String, same Fret with everything else Open, just an idea, if you feel so inclined......
