2 жыл бұрынThe future is truly here and I have to say, it's awesome. I love myself some metaverse crypto NFT games, always a good laugh. Buying stars in real life wasn't enough, now you can buy an NFT of a star that an insurance salesman says will become a metaverse game solar system that generates you money.
Well I found the asset packs, so they at least spent $100 or so on putting this game together which is fantastic. They're taking a page out of the Dreamworld game making guide where they use screenshots directly from the actual asset packs in their promotional content, making sure to crop the image so you can't see the creator's original logo. Fantastic work.

I remember seeing an astronomer talking about how sad it was that people would constantly come to his observatory wanting to look at 'their' star. They wouldn't believe him when he tried to explain to them that their document wasn't a real thing. He had no idea where the star "Jeffery" was.

Also sad: there's nothing to see when you look at a star though a telescope. It's a point. If you're lucky it has a color. I'm an astronomer and I find this boring as fuck. Now, if you do spectroscopy, or light curves, then things become interesting. But looking at a dot with eyes is dumb.

This just made me think of NFTs as a SubWay where you mint your sandwich by generating the toppings combination and they hand you a receipt of the sub you built, but you don’t get the sandwich. You can point at the sandwich, you can take a picture of the sandwich, you can show people the sandwich. But at the end of the day, you never actually get the sandwich you paid for.

Instead of buying a star, do an "adopt a sea turtle" type of program. You get a photo of the turtle and everything, so basically a NFT! Plus the turtle has already transcended the metaverse and is physically realized. There's also all sorts of cool variations, and each turtle is one of a kind! Also you'll actually be affecting the world in a positive way and stuff

Ok this is an old comment, but actually a lot of these "adopt an animal" programs are also scams. Do a lot of due diligence before backing them. Alternatively just donate to no-kill shelters, they also put pics of the animals on their pages.

The backbone of their project is MFPS 2.0 from the Unity Asset store (on sale for 25$ right now), with store bought environments and characters.. It would take a competent person about a day to put this together, and that would be mostly waiting on assets to download and shaders to compile.

I would expect they use the standard social media (especially Twitter) strategy: Buy ton of followers (real ppl/bots or both), create ilusion of traffic and real excitement and lure much smaller number of actual people who will actually pay and it will be worth it. Or people just don't have experience in how games and money work. Both possible, probably mixed up in a crazy shake. :)

just an FYI Terrell Owns is a FORMER football player he played for the cowboys (and other teams) he is a Hall of Famer...so i mean he was one of the best to ever do it as a wide receiver. I also wanna note the twitter follower count for alot of these small projects are just 100% bots/paid for. It's super easy to do and common to do to help "look" legit. It happens with youtube comments as well just mass bots to help encourage ppl to buy into their S- Coins/projects. its an absolute cesspool out there. Which is sad. (I will throw a shoutout to $VRA though as they are looking to filter bots out on streams) With that said... all of this is horrifying...and all these junk endorsements its just such a sad time to see a situation where we're all exposed to some REALLY good opportunities to change our lives, but its just flooded with mountains and mountains of crap

There is no game for these projects and never will be, most of them haven't even got a concept for a game let alone a game. They are pump and dump schemes for NFT traders. The only people who make money are the project owners and a tiny minority of people who are up for taking a gamble and get in and out early.

that footage of gameplay... I swear I have seen it before. It doesn't interest me because I hate most third person titles, prefer FPS over TPS, but I swear I have seen that video footage before on another game, from a few years ago, that was a scam. They were called out after a intensely long term 'pre release' pay system, in which a basic broken game came out and then the developer stopped existing. They made quite a bit of money if I remember, since getting alpha access was some $30 minimum and they sold a $100+ premium package that people bought. But it was 1 map, that wasn't even completed, half the items didn't work any different from the 'starter' guns, etc... it was literally just placeholders everywhere and then the support stopped, the company vanished and the website suddenly stopped existing. Here's your 50,000 KissTokens. Similar to BitCoin. Thanks for your video. What is a kisstoken? Absolutely nothing. It has no value. But I put it as a token, therefore someone will buy it and give me money.

Basically they say you get a piece of land and a Scottish "Lord" title, but in reality you don't own the land nor do you get any real title. @@KiraTV1 hah fair enough. Typed that comment before i watched the whole vid. I'm just a lil blown away about the Metaverse space and how it has blown up considering what it is as of now. I can sense there is some potential, but not really how its being priced in right now. Maybe thats just boomer talk or my ignorance to the space ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Anyhow thanks for the video's. I like them and they crack me up, your reactions are priceless

You know the sad part, is that there's actually a real useful "metaverse" waiting to be developed. I mean the vision that Epic et al have will actually be kind of cool both tech wise and usability wise (moving away from walled garden websites would be nice right?). But this kind of crap is going to seriously get in the way of adoption unless something can be done to stop all of the madness. I'm doing research for some things that are metaverse related, but this sort of NFT cash grab is going to make that exponentially harder imho.

no fuck that shit. The entire ideas of metaverses and NFTs are cancerous and parasitical in and of themselves. there is nothing real that can or will come from them.

I already live in a nanny state where the government regulates and tries to stand over the mainstream media and any social media personality who garners a moderate audience. If it's going to be anything like I imagine, I'll feel right at home, except it'll just be big tech dictating everything. Fun. Just another thing politics will ruin.

Metaverse and Crypto are 2 completely different things they can go together but they don't need to go together... Second Life has no crypto and is the most mature, diverse and proof of concept Metaverse
