When I was a kid we would order a tostada pizza. Basically the same thing but add sour cream and more cheese not melted. It was amazing! Been at least 40 years since I have eaten that.

I love pizza! Who doesn't?? I love to cook but I live alone. So I often make things for my elderly neighbors... they're low salt no salt ppl. ... Anyway, when I make pizza 4 myself, ... I always keep flour tortillas in my freezer... those little ones. I put them in the oven to defrost, 4 about 5 mins or less. Then I flip them over & top with tomato or unsalted canned diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. Put back in the oven & cook until cheese is melted. For this recipe, I'd follow all the taco directions, but instead of pizza dough, I'd use tortillas for the pizza crust. (I'm older. I don't eat as much bread & dough as I used to!) One of my daughters is a gluten free-er. I'm making lazagna for dinner, with Normal lazagna noodles!! I tried gluten free pasta. In a word, YUK!! So I'm making some taco spaghetti, too. (Gluten free spahetti) I'll make the taco pizza, too ; soon!! (With regular pizza crust) but when I'm home alone, I'll make taco pizza on mini tortillas!! Looks great!! 💖💖💖

No. There is no "have to" in cooking. One can do whatever they want to get the result they desire. Cooking is an art, not a science. Therefore, it's all preference. Always adjust accordingly.
