Jang the gold blade on the titan mechs arm is a re colored piece from season 8 sons of garmadon from ninjago. It was used on Mr. Es bike and Killows bike.

Between the Skull Sorceror's Dungeon and an alternate build for that creator pirate ship, 2020 was a good year for giant, brick-built skills. 2021 doesn't look to be any different, what with that robot's torso being a giant skull. Looks like a Gunmen from Gurren Lagann.

Actually 2020 was considered by many the worst Lego year. Way too many big sets, no many good smaller sets. Overpriced and Oversized Monki Kid theme...

This reminds me of good old exo force. It's amazing to see how far the designs have come to allow for the immense amount of articulation. I'd love to see some of the original exo force mecs done with the new pieces and engineering. I can dream I suppose.

Couldn't the thrusters on the leg open outwards as if it was deployed for some extra jump height? It looks like there's a T-bar inside so you should still be able to see the details regardless.

I think this lego designer is a gunpla builder. There’s some bits that I saw in this review came from some gundpla kits. I want them to keep that up. It isn’t a bad place to get inspired by.

3:30 this piece was used in "Street Race of Snake Jaguar" as well as "Killow vs. Samurai X" both 2018 Ninjago sets, later it was used on "Firstbourne", a Season 9 set and "Cole's Earth Driller", from the first Legacy Wave.

Really nice mech set. The knees are so nice and sturdy! I hope knees become a standard going forward. Last year's Fire Stone Mech would have benefited greatly from them. I love these large scale mechs, ninjago has been absolutely spoiling me these past few years!

I really loved putting this set together, and it looks fantastic on display next to the other Ninjago mechs from the last few years. However, looks wise, I’m still partial to Lloyd’s Titan mech. I think overall that was is still cleaner and has more unique building techniques with the exception of the knees. Thanks for the great review as always Jang!

I think those pieces with the 3 ball joints were first used in LEGO Technic sets for steering mechanisms with suspension.

I agree wholeheartedly, a mech with an open cockpit is just asking for a stud to the face, and we need more fully-covered mecha! Plus, more awesome ways to fully enclose a pilot would be great for inspiration.

Those knee joint pieces with three ball joints existed way before Nexo Knights. They're part of small Technic steering linkages

the designer (@toothdominoes on Twitter) was talking about the process of designing this and including articulating knees. There's some discussion in his comments about how difficult it can be to put knees on mechs and keep it stable and easily poseable. Basically you need something pretty complicated like this to have enough friction. I guess gunpla doesn't have the same issue bc they're usually overall lighter! Very interesting stuff

Just got done building this one. And I am extremely impressed. I am now hooked. I was kinda against them and idk why. I just got loyd's mech for $130 off eBay. Built it. And than the fire and stone mech from season 13. I wanna get the white and gold one. I hope they continue to make more mechs!!!
