this is pure gold, specially because walter is right, ralph shouldn't slow down for others, he was smart in season 1, but after being around scorpion and after all the things that they have been teaching him, he has become the smartest in the group, and he has an amazing potencial that he could use for the sake of humanity, so he shouldn't slow down because the world need people like him (even if he is a kid, he as being learning from the people around him that he can use is knowledge to help others and he is like walter, both of them are willing to put themselfs in danger if that means that they will save people), people should try to be at his level or at least get a higher level than they already are, walter is right, if people would at least try to be more like ralph (a good and smart person) the world would be a better place.

I think this is a good example of a genious slowing down to help normies understand a very complex informational exchange between two other geniouses.

I miss this show. What initially drew me to it was the relationship between these two geniuses. I was really looking forward to watching that dynamic evolve as Ralph grew older. The show was just beginning to start exploring it more when it was cancelled.

The show had a good premise, but ironically, most of the "science" in each episode was moronic. Nobody thought to hire someone with any actual scientific or engineering background to look over the scripts.

When we were in third grade. We took our IQ tests. We weren't told the results. Two of us peeked. Three kids had scores over 100 points. My score was 80 points higher than the average. They wanted to put me in 7th grade afterward. Mom thought I would have no friends. I had few friends and was mostly bored . When my son was three, we were advised that he should be tested as ASD....like his Dad, she let slipped out. I was diagnosed....I could solve complex math, and yet failed at small talk.

I'm not crying...but if I were...it would be because I was a highly intelligent kid with a couple of learning disabilities in a time when inclusion was a new idea they were trying out and I never had anyone who got me the way Walter gets him. I am smart, like scorpion smart, but I also have dyslexia. Teachers and other kids were brutal and I really didn't understand how arrogant I was coming off to people either. That is definitely part of why i was not well liked in school. I have much better social skills now, but I did not as a kid. That part is on me though and I own that and have worked on it a lot.

According to the show Ralph has an estimated IQ of 200. He's maybe one out of 3 people on the planet with an estimated IQ that high. For 98-99% of the rest of the world to catch up to him cognitively speaking would be impossible. It would be up to him to change the world, but it's also up to him to help educate the rest of the world so the other 98-99% can in turn help him.
@johnfrancis32033 жыл бұрын
It may be "impossible" but... what is iq really? A number based on a series of tests that's supposed to explain how smart you are? That's bullshit. Everyone can get smarter. Everyone can learn. Maybe people won't grasp things immediately and maybe some people will never grasp certain things, but everyone can learn. Don't have that kind of mindset. Instead, learn. Grow. Keep going. Inspire others to greatness. That's the lesson

@@johnfrancis3203Intelligence ain't equal to knowledge. Intelligence is how good and how fast you are in seeing patterns and drawing conclusions. Yes you can get better at it, but getting from an IQ of about 100 to an IQ of 200 is nearly impossible with todays knowledge about cognitive training.

This is why autistic Savant female great minds have to slow down for ppl like them. Bc we are not allowed to change the world its our job to enrich the men around us. That's the only way we are allowed to change the world 😢
@gameinformationpokertheory5 ай бұрын
The show was based on hyperbole - the character is based on a real person who works as part of group of Consultants solving complex problems. We as a society are constantly getting smarter - we are constantly learning, growing and improving. Yes, by teaching - knowledge and information will enrich everyone. From the show’s representation, 200 IQ drastically over conflates Ralph’s ability at such a young age. Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, Carl Sagan and so on are all more intelligent than Marilyn vos Savant or Terence Tao. IQ is measure of potential for pattern recognition and speed of analysis to make better decisions. Walter O’Brien was given super human intelligence for the purposes of the show…Ralph is given advanced development beyond his years…the World would be a better place if we were all a little bit smarter. 🤓

He's both right and wrong. I agree he shouldn't have to hobble his intelligence for anyone, but if he doesn't learn how to he could end up alone. Walter doesn't do that and until Ralph and his mom came along the only people he could tolerate was his team. And there were plenty of times where he thought he was so much better than even his team he came off as a jerk. He shouldn't do it when it's important, but unless he learns to be humble he'll look like a know it all just like Walter.

@@mojonuggets0 "America is the wealthiest nation on Earth, but its people are mainly poor, and poor Americans are urged to hate themselves. To quote the American humorist Kin Hubbard, 'It ain’t no disgrace to be poor, but it might as well be.' It is in fact a crime for an American to be poor, even though America is a nation of poor. Every other nation has folk traditions of men who were poor but extremely wise and virtuous, and therefore more estimable than anyone with power and gold. No such tales are told by the American poor. They mock themselves and glorify their betters. The meanest eating or drinking establishment, owned by a man who is himself poor, is very likely to have a sign on its wall asking this cruel question: 'if you’re so smart, why ain’t you rich?' There will also be an American flag no larger than a child’s hand - glued to a lollipop stick and flying from the cash register. Americans, like human beings everywhere, believe many things that are obviously untrue. Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money. They will not acknowledge how in fact hard money is to come by, and, therefore, those who have no money blame and blame and blame themselves. This inward blame has been a treasure for the rich and powerful, who have had to do less for their poor, publicly and privately, than any other ruling class since, say Napoleonic times. Many novelties have come from America. The most startling of these, a thing without precedent, is a mass of undignified poor. They do not love one another because they do not love themselves."
