I have to admit, I am not the biggest fan of the movie but when this song played in the movie theater, the emotion that just filled the room was beautiful

I saw this in the theater on my sister’s birthday three months after her suicide. I pray this song brings strength to those struggling with depression. You are not alone.

What hurts is that the very same people who sang also decided to ignore him and made him feel alone after the incident. Please, know that everyone makes mistakes. And he still sang the TRUTH.

The dad crying gets me EVERYTIME

Was an absolute wreck in the cinema when this came on. Curled into a ball in my seat and couldn't stop crying. My mate that saw it with me was patting me on the back, letting me know I wasn't alone. Amazing movie.

Whoever has faced suffering and pain ALONE can relate to the song, myself included. In our everyday interaction, we might be insensitive to other's silent cries, but it doesn't mean that we don't care!! Let's just slow down and pay attention. Someone might need your cheers!

I've never cried during a movie until this. My gf warned me and I brushed it off. Ben Platt is phenomenal.

As a father, we are expected to be strong, brave and even bullet proof. We carry so much on our shoulders when it comes to strength. Eventually, the weight becomes to much to carry. And eventually we break. Seeing this father break....is a feeling many of us fathers have felt before. And before the comments come in, yes, I know mother's go through the same thing. I can only speak as a dad, not a mom.

This is the stuff I want schools to be showing my children: Dear Evan Hansen, Remember The Titans, Green Mile, Hidden Figures. These are what can inspire kids and truly make a difference.

I have a kid at my school who considered me his only friend. I noticed he wasn’t doing well and told the teachers. The next day he gave me a pin that said “Thank you (insert name). The only one who cares”. A couple weeks later before a concert he told me “People would be happy if I fell off a cliff”. This is still going on but please. Who ever reads this. If you see someone in pain talk to them. Who cares if it’s akward do it. Help them get help. Please

Lost my little brother to suicide years ago. Couldn't decide if I should watch this movie or not. Bawled like a baby when this song came on. So powerful.

3:58 seeing this scene on the big screen in the theater gave me chills the way they filmed all the videos coming together in a collage it was such an epic moment and really drove home the feeling of everyone coming together for the message

When I saw the musical live, the moment when the dad finally lets his grief show is when I just lost it and started bawling. That moment got me in the movie as well.

I never had the opportunity to see this on Broadway ( part of me didn't want to because how much I'd be crying just from how well everything is executed ), but I've seen this number how it is played on Broadway and the part where Connor's dad breaks down was like a knife when I saw the stage performance. I'm glad they kept it in the movie.

But when I got the right help I could see things more clearly and realized that I was not alone. No matter how bad things seem they can get better. I watched this movie with my friend when it was in theatres. I’m not a cryer, especially for movies. This movie, the message, the voices, the influence it had on everyone in the theatre, was the movie that brought me to genuine tears. I felt the pain the actors had to portray, and I think that is what makes a great movie. If you’ve never really paid attention to the hardships people are facing, start today. Just giving someone a compliment or smiling at them could help their last thread of hope get stronger. The scene where the father breaks down really shows that even the strongest cry. I strongly believe that this movie is one of the best movies produced in a while.

I don't ever cry. In fact I haven't alowed myself to cry in years, but whenever this comes on I literally ball my eyes out.

I hear people say some really bad things about this film. I've never seen it but I definitely want to either way! I always wanted to see "Dear Evan Hansen," on a big screen ever since I saw the musical!

The only other film that made me cry was titanic. But when I saw this, I was destroyed by the end. I went through a crisis almost a year ago. I could barely eat or sleep. I was questioning everything.And when I tried this movie, it helped a lot. This song has truth to it, we’re not alone at all. Recommend for anyone who has been through hard times.

The lyrics to this song are so true. When the dark kwas crashing in for me and I was broken on the ground I was found by the best group of friends anyone could ask for. I am saved now and in a much better place because of them. They are now part of my family. I always think of them and tear up when I hear this song.

I liked the musical. I haven’t watched the movie cause I’ve heard a lot of bad things about it but this scene. I was sitting in my garage depressed about everything. Contemplated meaning of anything I was doing. I felt hopeless. But listening and watching this caused me to break down in tears when I saw Connors dad I assume just break down hugging his wife.
