You will thank me for the rest of your life! Place a spring in the door hinge , Today I would like to share with you an amazing life hack that will make your life much easier. This method applies to door hinges and will help you always close the door without difficulty.
The first step is to disassemble the door hinge and remove the plugs. Then you need to knock out the pin; it is recommended to use a hammer for this.
After that, using a grinder, cut out only the central part of the loop, without damaging the remaining parts.
Now the fun part - take one spring and measure the distance in the middle of the loop. It is important to cut the spring at the correct angle so that it fits perfectly between the flaps of your hinge. Bend a small piece of edge on each side of the spring.
And now, all that remains is to put everything together! Now your door will always be closed, and you will no longer call to do it!

Or, you could go to any hardware store and buy a pre-manufactured spring loaded door hinge that includes an adjustable tension control built right into it. Then you can adjust the degree of spring power to match the weight and resistance of your door.

Good job for DIY hack. In the alternative, AMZ has them prebuilt with adjustible tension for $10. That means if it's slamming your glass-window door shut you can lighten the tension, or if you have a heavy metal door increase it. You can also pay up to $45 to get a dual-spring latch (like you find in office buildings) where you independently adjust how "quickly" it moves the door to almost-closed, but then how softly it does that final latch without a bang. But for a hack, and if you already have the hinge and the spring and a lot of time, it's pretty good :)

This would be ok for an exterior gate hinge; certainly not on an entry door to the house or a bedroom door. I am all for DIY -- but not when there is a practical option out there at a reasonable price. You can purchase spring hinges that are aesthetically pleasing for a reasonable price. I use my DIY skills and time on projects that save me bookoos of money. Hanging James Hardy siding on my house and building a porch -- both of which have survived 3 direct hit hurricanes. Those projects saved me tens of thousands of dollars.

I like how at the end of the video, when you were demonstrating the door "closing", you can very easily tell (by listening AND by watching) that the door didn't actually close (it didn't latch). This is even worse than the door visibly staying open because this would provide the ILLUSION of the door closing, giving you a false sense of security, while the door actually remained open.

the older I become the easier I like my projects easy. expanding. my old back deck, along with a BBQ area, roofed. having to pack every piece of wood, joists, beams, concrete bags, around the house, along with three tiers of scaffolding, screwing in thousands of s.s deck screws into the deck planks, and staining each piece of wood, it looks awesome, I'm happy, but it sucked!!!!.

I made one for an old lady but reversed the action so the door would spring open I also made use of a 500lb spring I had spare 😜 as a result when anyone pushed the lever to open the door it flew open at 300mph and took out any visitor in its path , it was hilarious sitting in the garden when unwanted people came to the door I would shout “just go in mate” and the next thing they are lying up the garden path looking like having gone 5 rounds with Iron Mike .

Ой спасибо,в конце смешно было. Давно есть петли на которых срез целиндров у штифта не ровный а сделан под углом , с такмим расчетом что при открывании дверь немножко поднимается на верх ,когда дверь отпускаешь она под собсвенным весом поворачивается и закрывается.

I’m glad I sped through this video. It’s easier and faster to buy a hinge that already has the self close spring or self closing hinge attached to the door that can be propped open if you want the door to stay open. The music was taken from a porn movie.

That's a very fancy hinge. The majority of hinges in America don't have caps holding in a central rod, or spacers between the parts. They're usually just two halves and a pin that's flared on the end so it won't come out. Most hinges for full-sized doors just have a pin with a flare on the top so that it can be easily pulled out.

That's a better quality "architectural" hinge. Thicker and with bearings. I've bought and installed them to replace the thicker hinges that you find in older houses.

If youd rather avoid the work and modification of hinges you can buy adjustable speing hinges at most places that sell doors and installation materials. I use wholesale supply companies as im a contractor. Many will accept walkins and sell to the public or buy online. The price ranges from 10.00 to oh my damn! You should be able to find decent interior spring hinges for 12 to 20 per hinge.

@@zbigniewczaykowski514 stay away from those plastic pieces of shite they used to put in the PVC wrapped screen doors. I've actually got one on my bedroom door now. It is one I had to replace on a friend's door that had broken. I welded the plastic back together and attached it on the inside of my bedroom simply because it's a hollow core door and it is strong enough to keep the door shut but not latched so my little kids can push it open to get in. Mini tha moocher uses her nose to open and get out whereas Miss Della Reese uses her feet to open it. Out doors in Texas plastic doors hinges and rain gutters are a bad investment. They all melt. Oh the plastic truck tool boxes will squash like a marshmallow if a couple of big ol boys sit on it to eat lunch and it's over 100 f outside.

I bought a purpose build tension spring from Amazon for £8 for my garden gate (same concept as this internal door) took me 10 mins to fit and all I needed was a screwdriver. I adjusted the tension to how much the gate needed.

There is a spring attachment you can buy to retrofit your door hinge. Pull the pin, insert spring and put back the pin. No hinge removal needed.

Yes it would be simpler and a better look to simply purchase an adjustable spring hinge where the spring is concealed and the hinge matches the other hinges on the opening. Or, there are butterfly springs that you simply slide the hinge pin down through.

Pessoal...para esse tipo de situação da porta pode ate funcionar...so que na horá de colocar a mola não será do jeito que foi colocada..pois para ter pressão de empurar a porta os dois filamentos um de cada lado..terão de ser montados com mais angulo pra dentro.....não praticamente reto como o video mostrou...ai a pessoa terá de colocar a mola com boa força...pois para empurrar a porta os filamentos não podem estar so retos e sim mais dobrados pra dentro de cada lado...e ai pra montar ficará complicado..pois a pressão inpedirá que se faça com facilidade.
