Right there with you, bro. I've been to the ER 5 times in the last year and a half thinking I was having a heart attack. Everyday is a nightmare with severe dysautonomia since my covid infection in Jan 2023. I'm about to try 40 sessions of HBOT. I've already spent 10k on specialists in the last year. I hope we can get out of this mess soon my friend.

Preliminary findings? If the virus can fast track into the brain through the olfactory cranial nerve that extends into the outside of body within the nose, the other 11 cranial nerves which includes the vagus nerve. As a critical care nurse I’ve noted many symptoms of long Covid seem to be related to a number of the cranial nerves

I’ve had long covid since April 2020 and have been doing vagus nerve exercises amongst many other things. I found a slight improvement on the first few days of using vagus nerve exercises in 2021, just how sleeping became easier etc. Anyway I’m now doing much much better but still have a few things come up but taking it all as it comes, and just knowing about poly-vagal theory has made all the difference for me. Thanks for your informative videos!

OMG!!! This is finally coming together in describing how my health has deteriorated since Covid began, despite my testing negative. ALL my symptoms point to Vagus nerve dysfunction, beginning the very month Covid hit North America, Nov 2019.My main challenge is my PCP has ZERO motivation to pursue any diagnosis, other than prescribe muscle relaxants.

I never got COVID... but I did get 5X mRNA vaccine and I now have raging long-haul for over 2 years. Neuropathy so bad at times that I hoped I would just die in my sleep. Yet, all my labs were normal- no Lupus, no Lyme Disease, no auto-immune disease, a clean slate from neurology. Yup, I am a type A person, endurance athlete with a hx of C-PTSD so I am in that group of females most likely to get long-haul. Reading Dr. Riggs' book almost made me cry because it was the first real affirmation that I am not just a stressed out neurotic person- I have a real physiological issue rooted in a neurological dysfunction caused by some external "thing" that my nervous system is particularly sensitive to. My woes started after complying with the public health vaccine protocols in my area. I started getting sick, and sicker after each vaccine recommended for my age. But...I never made the connection, believing the vaccine would keep me safe. I checked 19 of the 28 symptoms set out in Sally's book intro ( + dozens more not on that list) and I clearly remember telling my doctor in the early days, that I felt like I had "total body inflammation". He just gave me a blank look when I said this- certainly no treatment. He thought I might have CFS- that was all he said before walking out. My symptoms largely mirror MCAS (despite testing negative for this) and RA (negative on this too.) I have exhausted the dietary and natural supplements route (with some improvement!) Eventually I suspected that I likely had a spike protein buildup from the vaccine that was causing micro clots and severe vasospasms- and I decided to do a spike protein detox. (Being a science geek makes you dig long and hard into the bona fide research to figure this stuff out. You get desperate- you try new things and assess them objectively and with an open mind.) It is now clear that I need to avoid this vaccine altogether, and move to the next level- polyvagal approaches to healing. After a week of using the "Nervous System Tracker", I am understanding my nervous system better, pacing my activity better and I am starting to see some positive changes, so this gives me some hope.

What do you think about vagus nerve stimulation using a TENS device (tVNS) for this? especially the ventral aspect of the vagus nerve
@sallyriggs465
@sallyriggs465 3 ай бұрын
I have personally never used a tVNS machine (or even held one in my hand). It is my understanding that they are well evidence based in temporarily stimulating the vagus nerve, but when you turn them off they do not create any lasting changes in the nervous system or in the vagus nerves flexibility or tone, unlike things like somatic practices or the safe and sound protocol which do create lasting change.

Preprints with The Lancet is part of SSRN´s First Look, a place where journals identify content of interest prior to publication. Authors have opted in at submission to The Lancet family of journals to post their preprints on Preprints with The Lancet. The usual SSRN checks and a Lancet-specific check for appropriateness and transparency have been applied. Preprints available here are not Lancet publications or necessarily under review with a Lancet journal. These preprints are early stage research papers that have not been peer-reviewed. The findings should not be used for clinical or public health decision making and should not be presented to a lay audience without highlighting that they are preliminary and have not been peer-reviewed.

After getting a Covid variant in June 2022 I was diagnosed with Afib and CHF very low EF. My EF has improved by 5% every 6 months. After much research on my own after 14 months of constant persistent Afib I finally started to get sinus rhythm through a drug for just a few days but when reducing the drug mg I went back into Afib. Then I learned about trying a nicotine patch 7 mg for 6 days and after 2 days I went into sinus rhythm but now experiencing low bpm when sleeping. I’ve been in normal sinus rhythm now for 9 straight days. If drugs don’t help Afib ,a vagus nerve issue to the heart , and CardioVersion doesn’t stop Afib then the cardiologist or electrophysiologist seek to ablate the vagus nerve either on the inside or outside of the heart by surgery or catheter ablation. I am stopping the drug today which I reduced down twice to see if I now will remain in sinus rhythm. This is my story.

I’m now 73 days in normal sinus rhythm after the patch treatment. Bpm has improved. Sleep has improved. Now the next phase is another Echocardiogram which should show how much that 14 months in persistent AFib was the issue with the congestive heart. I’m still in hypertension area in blood pressure. I never had heart issues before getting a Covid variant.

Damaged from 1 vax never had the virus. Does food/drug intolerance count as a GI symptom and can we talk more about that… I’m jealous of people who even have the option of trying medicines and supplements I can only eat 3foods and it’s been over 2yrs. Meanwhile almost at anaemia levels and can’t tolerate vitamins. I stopped POTS and anxiety symptoms with diet and acupuncture but where to go from here… 😢

So sorry to hear that Stephanie. I am not a physician so I can not give medical advice or make a diagnosis. However my best guess would be that food/drug intolerance would be related to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. Something very common with LC but like I said I can’t give medical advice. Hope you can find someone who can help. Hugs 🤗

look into glutamine powder as its helped me loads with stopping the damage that's in my stomach from autoimmune issues. I take 20g of glutamine daily morning and night. I hope you get better I know its horrid when you cant eat anything as I have been there and was very bad. another thing that helped me is benfotiamine as my beau's lines finally disappeared off of my nails and get way less symptoms of multiple immunes issues.

Why do people keep calling it long covid and not vaccine injury? Please tell me how you decided which damaged the vagus nerve? You look at one spike protein and not the one built by the mRNA? I never had covid but issues immediately after the vaccine. They appear to be vagus related. Thanks for the informative video.

Many people do get vaccine injury. Many people get sick from an acute covid infection long before they ever had a vax (or one was available). Acute covid damaged my vagus nerve because I was sick in March 2020 and never got the vax until February 2021… Simple timeline math.
