Gulmarg in India has one of the highest cable cars/gondolas in the world! I had no idea! Let's ride it all the way to the top, and I'll show you each stage of this incredible gondola. The first stage is a lush Kashmiri Valley, and the second takes you into the cloud and onto the snow. It's a must-visit location in India.
Gulmarg Gondola in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir is one of the world's highest operating cable cars. It runs from 10am - 5pm and costs ₹1700 for both stages. The first stage of the cable car takes you to a lush valley, and the second takes you to a snow-covered mountain peak. Getting to stage 2 is very dependent on the weather. If the weather isn't good, then stage 2 will be closed.
Beware of touts and tour guides harassing you at the ticket booth. It's an awful situation there. The Police try to control them, but it's difficult. I would say you don't need a guide as the gondola locations are very self-explanatory. When you get up to the snow stage there, you can hire equipment to enjoy the snow.
Besides the Gondola, there's also a picturesque meadow to explore in Gulmarg. But if you want to experience real paradise, then I suggest you head to Pahalgam and Aru Valley in the Kashmir Valley. It's the best place that I found in the valley. Those stunning drone shots of a valley in this video were shot there.
And yup, I was sick while filming this, hence my very red face - the cold seemed to make it worse 😂.
