Planning next vaca. trip either April or May to visit Surabaya and Malang.( vacation /family...lol) We live in NJ, Philly suburbs and to be real I have enjoyed all my time spent in Indo and love the people and can't wait to get back !

Nick, that's not a Dutch home. That's an original old Cirebonese house. It was built perhaps before the 1940s, but the architecture is pure local. The Dutch colonial houses will not have a courtyard like that. Also the room allocation is rectangular, and there is a separation of outer and inner rooms, which are identical to Sundanese or Cirebonese traditional house plans.

What's even more amazing is the history of the city of Kediri. Until all Indonesian presidents were afraid and anxious about visiting the city of Kediri just past the Berantas River. The meaning of eradication is to massacre, overthrow, overthrow, if there is a president who is not pure in heart, sincere, pure in managing the people and the country... Hi Nick, watching the video I was wondering what is the price of an average batik sarong in Cirebon? Did Vanessa get inspired by the batik workshops and is she going to use the technigues or paterns in her own work? The old Dutch house reminds me of our house in Bandung where I grew up. Thanks for sharing.

depends on where you buy it, if it's from the shops on the streets, i would say the average price is around 300,000 for a simple good quality one, if not more, the museum sells low quality simple stuff for 200,000 above, so best to do your shopping outside at the local places. Yeah, she definitely was inspired by visiting all the workshops but shes been working with batik for a while now and this trip just helped to see more depth in the batik process

I've been to Cirebon when i was a kid, they are mix between Sundanese & Javanese Culture, some people only know sunda language and some are only know java

Our boy really trying to make documentaries with these kind of cuts, I remember about Senyap documentary while watching this vlog. The random cuts of scenery, the weird mystical thing, cuts of the bad environement, etc. 😅

Nick, you missed great spots in Cirebon, which is its downtown 😢. It has a lot of history and of course, historical building. You only went to its sub urbs before you caught the bus.

Cirebon is my hometown... I live in downtown of Cirebon City... I like your video which shows Cirebon from an different perspective... The authenticity and originality of life that you expose is quite interesting even though I recommend a more in-depth review.
