Ralph, just remember that coyotes travel in packs and sometimes one will distract dogs while the others get over fences to go after other animals. Always better to assume they can and will breach barriers vs they won't.

That coyote was trying to get you to follow. That is how they get a dog or cat, they lure them and then the cat or dog will get ambushed. I wouldn’t count on either pup getting the best of a coyote. They travel in packs for a reason and they can jump a tall fence. I LOVE your shirt grandma Doss!!

When it comes to feeding the pigs in the shade; at my grandparents, the pigs were kept in the one barn and we always dumped their food/ slop over the top of bottom half of the barn door right into all the mud that was there! I am 66 years old!

Congratulations, for the 50k and for figuring the best way to integrate the chickens together, sometimes they get rough on one another. Coyotes will decoy with one while the others slip in around the backside.

Yes, watching the integration is tough. I had 3 little groups, and after a many weeks, I found them all, including 2 roos all hanging out together. The older girls still make sure to remind the younger ones know their place, but they are all hanging out and it made my heart happy. Mags will probably accept Gray's or Sassy'sons, as long as he is integrated at around this age. I've gotten lucky with my roos being pals, the girls just have to deal with tag team romance. LOL

Congrats on 50K! That’s very exciting. Please heed the advice and comments from so many of your viewers regarding the coyotes. I was born and raised on a Wyoming cattle ranch. We dealt with coyotes there, and I’ve since retired and moved to Arizona. My property borders both BLM and state land. I have coyotes come to my deer waterers daily, as well as an array of many other animals, large and small. I guess I’m trying to tell you I’ve been around coyotes all my life. They are very clever, and will try whatever’s necessary to get a meal, be it kitty, goat and especially chicken. If you are hearing several, I’d venture a guess there’s a den nearby and Momma is teaching kids to hunt. Your LGDs will deter them for a short while until the coyotes figure out the dogs cannot reach the stock. I doubt they will take on two dogs, but they will certainly take on one, especially since they’re pups. When Revel and Rylie mature, the coyotes will leave them alone, but they are vulnerable to attack right now. Someone suggested letting your dogs in the chicken pen to pee and mark it as theirs. Strange as it sounds, Ralph, you should “mark” around your place as well….the chicken, goat and dog pens. Coyotes will hesitate to come in to human scent. Not much deters a hungry coyote, let alone a momma trying to find enough to feed a litter. The pups are coming out of the dens and following momma around for another three to four weeks before they find their own territories. Stay vigilant. Your pups will let you know when coyotes threaten. Sorry this was so lengthy. Love your rock n talks! ❤❤❤

We have Danes, and after having gone through what you have with Riley, and speaking to reputable breeders, we switched to an adult food which has lower protein so they grow at a slower rate, and that seemed to do the trick pretty fast. I am sure you have all sorts of suggestions, I just know what worked for us. I can see how concerned you are💗

Hello LeaAnn and Ralph Grey went right up to let Mags know she was still around. We often hear the coyotes at night. They travel right past our bedroom windows sometimes. I can see how Riley stretches her legs, they are long, it is strange Revel gaining weight too & larger & he has no growing problem thank the Lord, but have seen this in the large dogs, I’ve seen that cutting the protein some can help to slow down the growth some has worked more than other methods. Feel for Riley, she is so sweet, but giving her lots of love helps too & you & Grandma are awesome at that! I live in north Louisiana and we have had some mornings at 7 am the temps have been 86 degrees with a high of 106 and no rain in a month. Over fifteen days of triple digit temps. Leaves are falling like it’s mid fall! Of course we’re under a burn ban and leaves are piling up! But I still feel fortunate bc those people in Maui need our utmost prayers. If we think we have it bad, just look and listen to what others are dealing with! I do feel so fortunate! God bless your little farm! I didn’t want to say Gosh Grandma! You look great!
