Thank you Stan for coming over to help Kyle and Shannon with their garden fence. You're a very good neighbor. Thanks also for giving them the heads up on moving that dead turtle. Shannon, I love the garden area. It looks so good. I know you will be producing some great veggies before long. And in the fall you can plant some cold weather crops and get a bit more for your table before winter. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. Prayers for LeaAnn for her surgery tomorrow.

Shannon and Kyle if you want to keep squirrels and rabbits out of your garden I would recommend that you use chicken wire around your fence. It will also help keep the gunnies out and chicken when you get them. As well as ground hogs.

Cover the turtle with a thick layer of pine shavings and that will decompose it faster and smell better!

Shannon, if you haven't started to already, start bringing those plants outside not in direct sunlight immediately, but in gradually more and more each day. They need to get hardened off to the outdoor breezes and sunlight so that they transition well into the garden. You'll have stronger plants that way. After several days of hardening them off go ahead and get them planted. You will love watching their progress in the garden. Once you get digging in the soil you'll realize how relaxing the process is. Kyle, put a mask on and grab a shovel and dig a hole directly along side that turtle and throw some lime in the hole. Once you've got the hole there you can nudge the turtle into it. If you dig under it a bit on the side closest to the turtle you might be able to get it to slide in without too much effort or risk of it exploding. Dump some more lime on top of it and cover it up. That will take care of the smell for you. Stan's an awesome neighbor! I need a Stan next door to me.

That is just a regular snapping turtle. They have smooth shells. Alligator snappers have shells that look like an alligator. Also, it could do some serious damage. It can break bones.

My granddad told me - a long time ago to plant after rain- the rain makes the ground softer, chicken wire at the bases might help with bunnies :)

My husband hit a very bloated deceased raccoon along the road one time. (I asked what it would sound like). The smell in our truck instantly was worse than any skunk I have ever smelled. By the way you playing basketball and other things were so darn cute. Such a cute little boy. Your mom shared so many memories and pictures of you 3 boys on last ights video. 🥰🥰🥰

Oh man. I thought it might be a carcass of something - but a huge snapping turtle!? that's amazing! Could be if you covered it with soil that could lessen the odor. At some point it will of course just go into the ground but ugh, until then... whew I don't envy your smellers! Sorry that happened but yep that's country life! Prayers for Kyle's mom tomorrow and beyond, for a quick and full recovery so she can enjoy her upcoming retirement. Thanks to Herc for protecting the farm. He's a wonderful LGD.

My husband being in the hospital a neighbor came over and mowed our front yard, he would of mowed our backyard but we have a locked gate across the driveway, such a Blessing! Your garden is looking awesome, Shanon! I put an 8ft. t-post at each corner of my garden, and one at each side of the gate, and then wrapped a 7'x100' deer netting around the whole thing (leaving the gateway uncovered). I also had to cover the gate itself, and zip tied it to all the tall posts. Worked like a charm! My garden is 18x25.

Shannon your garden will be nest! There is nothing wrong with putting your plants out in the rain.. that too helps harden them off, just don’t drown them. Direct sun when they’re not used to it is the worse. A little sun at a time…. dappled sun light is the best to begin with. Chicken wire around the bottom Of your fence for rabbits would be the best. Rabbits are determined so… at least 3ft high & they will dig under too.

Chicken wire on the bottom half for them little critters. Bunnies dig so depending on how determined they are, it might happen. Another very enjoyable and interesting video. #1 channel I watch. It was funny watching Kyle trying not to gag. Praying all goes well for LeeAnn.

Kyle when my dad would put his awning up on the trailer he would leave one front corner alittle shorter than the other. When it would rain all the water would run off the awning at that corner. He never had to worry about water or hail pooling on the awning. ❤
