As a child I would be in the kitchen with my mom and she taught me how to make homemade bread in a CAST IRON SKILLET and on an open camp fire. That knowledge really came in handy during the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. We went through several months without any electricity and running water. No internet or telephone service. So I gathered all the children of my community and we started making bread on my portable gas burner and cast Iron Skillet. We later on built a Clay Oven and baked bread and cakes and pies and pizza. It kept the stress levels down for the children. Thank you for posting this video.

My dad grew up with no money and would tell me about how his mom would make this for dinner and give them a glass a milk to go with it and he said he had that for dinner a lot of nights. He made this for me and my brother sometimes when we had no money ❤️ it was yummy. I was young and there was a lot of love in my home that I barely noticed we were struggling.

@@dougkerr5393 I'm not a pro, but my bread recipe is 400g white, all purpose flour, 300ml water, 7g dried yeast, salt (about half a teaspoon, but I'm healthy about my salt intake). I then coat the dough with oil and leave to ferment for a day in a covered container.

@CM B everyone has their own way the sense of feel comfort. Mine however is not MSR. In fact I find it irritating and gross to hear and watch people talk and whisper or crunch and munch loudly in my ears. Hell no. Not for this girl at least. Just sayin... It's all about watching someone make bread, and watch it be made. Knowing it's cooked evenly and the above person I guess found it "gross"? Well there ya go, to each their own. One of my happy times was watching my gramma kneed for hours making bread, watching it rise, and the yummy finished bread was devoured! 😂 it's a personal childhood comfort to me. I watched it once to understand way I could and the couple others without volume. As Americans we are used to what is more like cake. Our bread has SO much sugar. So true home made bread from all over is made in many ways. This is just one with simple ingredients. I made it but, I changed a few things making a Russian Bread (since we are Russian) and it turned out great as if I made it in my pans or bread maker. Corn bread is the ONLY way you get amazing bomb was cornbread! It's the cast iron skillet that turns in heavenly. Most who truly know how to cook and bake well can appreciate the video above. I for one love learning new knowledge and never walk around with ignorance that I can not learn something new in the daily. Knowledge is power...even if it's simple things like her effortless plate transfer while making new bread! I loved it! But it was just about the whole process from start to finish. Not her voice. I watch a lot in mute due to me not lovin the sound. Only here for tips and new family secrets others teach us. Everyone's got their own idea as to what is pleasurable, whether it be the ASMR, or like me just loving watching new cooking tips! especially from all types of cultures... not just the cake like sugar bread from the US. So I might be one of the very few. Just find it very relaxing to see something in powder form turn into an amazing do that I find very relaxing as it's being needed, and then watch it rise then straight to the pan and to watch this amazing fully cooked but moist bread come out of a pan and most of us don't cook that way so of course I tried it! And I'm glad I watched it! Learned a few things! And tried something I never would have otherwise. I just found it really relaxing just watching the process of what looked like the largest pancake EVER! 😆 to each their own.... Much love to everyone

@CM B I hope you can see the points I was trying to make. And my response was not all directed to you regarding the AMSR. I was basically all around responding even to the one saying "nah. It's just gross."...they can feel that way. To be it's different it doesn't mean gross. When bread comes in thousands of different ways. I'm just not closed off frim learning and widening my abilities in any way! Not just cooking bread. Some how we all end3d up here and were NOT looking for this. So while landing here on an off night randomly... I going but soothing and wasn't sure if I was alone in this or not lol. I'm not one to go through 100 comments first. Saw a good 20- ish and so far at that time no one said anything, like as in how I felt watching it. At least now if even a handful do, that I can see and I'm not SO strange with how I saw it I guess. 🤷 IDK at least I tried something new. And my kids are it ALL! So...win win💙
