Saw YT videos showing Chinese bridge building machine that rides on top and lay down section by section real fast, seems to be more efficient than these traditional cranes.

That might be a beam launcher ,different types of launching is done like span by span and full girder launching. The Japs have to take into account seismic activity and space constraints so they developed their own construction style which is highly effective
