I adore how their love actually grew for one another. Neither one wanted to marry each other but they found solace in one another by understanding that they were groomed for royalty and political games/gains since birth. They knew the games of the government, church, and even their families and that's how they became friends first and foremost. They had a connection knowing that they were pretty much all alone. It was a decision they made by investing in each other and trusting one another completely that made me love this couple, even though their start was far from ideal. They married for love despite what people think. Yes, Elizabeth was given to Henry for politics but in the end...it was love. They both grew to love one another deeply. He stood by her as much as she stood by him and with that mutual support they were able to rule. They challenged each other and she built a great king out of a young boy. Perhaps they weren't the strongest and best couple that made their country great but they did their best despite everything. Wish I could say the same thing for their son but in all honesty I can see why Henry VIII lost his mind and killed his wives. The society they lived in back then put a great emphasis on their men making them think that having a son was of outmost importance and yet Henry VIII had Elizabeth I, Queen Elizabeth the First of England...she ruled her country magnificently. Love the series!

Good point. It started as an arranged marriage but Henry did grow to love her and was apparently devastated when she died. She in turn grew to like him even if not madly in love with him.

I can't imagine how it felt thought, to watch your cousin and a pretender die, so Henry and her children were safe, having a mother in law that killed her brother's, she fell in love over time with him, but like imagine the trauma and the guilt Elizabeth must of had.

I really liked them in "The Spanish Princess." They were by far the best thing about that series. I didn't care that much about Prince Henry and Princess Catherine, I just wanted to see more King Henry and Queen Elizabeth. The two actors had great chemistry and their love was so sweet and so tragic.

The interesting thing is that this is about a tv series and we all know that, usually, love is portrayed as the most important thing. Often it was not in this way unfortunately and the marriages were a result of combinations for politics purposes. In the case of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York it was real! They truly loved each other and Henry suffered a lot after Elizabeth's death

Loved this series!!. My generational grandfather was Sir Thomas Stanley who married Margaret Beaufort, Henrys Mother. My connection to the royals goes back even farther to William the Conqueror so Im related to them all. The White Princess is my favorite one to watch.

Kim we are also cousins! Mary Tudor who beheaded my grandmother Queen of lady Jane grey; Edward had bequeathed her the thrown as she was the grandchild of Henry VII very sad story ! So they financed the mayflower , I'm so glad to know your out there I heard at one time up to 1/3 of Americans were of royal decent but I'm sure that number is much lower now !so glad to hear you say that my distant cuz! I rarely watch tv so I had no idea that people were so interested I don't know anything about the show im going to try to catch the name of it and sneak a peek at it !

He didnt in real life/history, but in the movie they made him cheat with the Scots princess, which pissed me off. Most kings never stayed faithful, but Henry VII did because he loved his wife, i was so disappointed. sigh.

Her mother is Queen Elizabeth and since she's the daughter of Edward 4th who's a Yorkist, she was called Elizabeth of york.

The White Princess when they was young and The Spanish Princess when they was old. But also my advice is to first watch The White Queen (1.part) than The White Princess (2.part) and than The Spanish Princess(3.part).The shows are about war of rose, about England History, York and Tudor Dynasty.

Uea a shame, but also not a shame, because without their son Henry VIII, their won't have been Queen Elizabeth, The Virgin Queen. Known as one of, if not the very best Queen of England to ever exist. So you have to definitely look at the bigger picture a lot in history.

Queen Elizabeth II Is direct descendant of Mary I of Scotland. She was the granddaughter of Margaret Tudor who was the first daughter of Elizabeth and Henry 🙂

Queen Elizabeth II is also descended from Henry VII and Elizabeth through their daughter, Mary and her husband, Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, through the late Queen Mother. I also read that Diana was descended from the Duchess of Suffolk, Princess Mary, but I haven't seen the family tree to verify that.

He wasn’t the one that murdered them in this show. They claimed it was his mother who had the boys killed. In real life we actually know it wasn’t even him nor his mom. It was King Richard that had them murdered

@@AleAnn I was referring to actual history not the show any way you looked at it she allowed it to happen to strengthen her claim and her husband's claim to the throne. She could have pleaded with her husband to save them but instead she turned her back on her mother and family for the sake of love and power.

@@AleAnn there is no proof any of them did it even Richard the third but they all had motive that's the point no one knows if those boys were alive or not when Henry took the crown from Richard it's all just assumption. But there was an obvious falling out between Elizabeth and her mother.

What do you mean by true heirs? Henry vii conquered England and become king of England just like william the conquerer.
