Awesome news! And people do weird things in religion; it's really unfortunate. If you're open to it, I want to challenge your perspective of a 'real' Christian. If not, don't read the next paragraph. ;) You are absolutely right that there is no such thing as a perfect Christian (not that we would be the ones to decide who is), but there is such a thing as a real Christian. It's not about everything you do for God and showing up to church 7 days a week. That's what turned me away at one point too, being told I somehow was less than for not attending all these church events and being accused of not having certain qualities. You've probably heard before that it's about a relationship: not about what you know, but who you know. A true Christian has died to their old self and old way of life to follow Christ. That's what the word Christian means: follower of Christ. And if a man truly decides to change, this does become and consume his identity. He produces evidence of his faith. As long as you keep searching, I have no doubt you will find what you're looking for: the Way that leads to life. 🤍 - your friend, a true Christian

@@tiktokzerotonin hey friend, thank you for all of the questions! *This is going to be long, sorry* God will absolutely help you :) Imagine yourself down the road, barely discernable in the distance from a man standing in a house. The man is smiling as he recognizes your form on the horizon. And you are slowly making your way back to him, and the closer you get the more excited he becomes. That is what God is like! (Luke 15: 11-32) There were certain people that I thought would remain in my life forever. I didn't understand it at the time, but people are not always what they seem and they don't always value you as much as you think they do. It's not always beneficial to have them in your life and there are lessons I would never have learned if that person were still in my life. And sometimes people remove themselves from your life, not the other way around. If you pray to God, that person will be in your life as long as it is in His will. He knows what's best for us, and you'll have to trust that things are ultimately working for your good (Romans 8:28). There were many times where I had nobody in my life (not one I could call a friend, no close family). Jesus Himself was alone many times in His life. The only thing that kept me from feeling lonely was my relationship with God. And I was genuinely okay because I understood that even though I was by myself, I was not alone. I was still seen, heard, and understood despite wanting that connection with others, not just God alone. And God gave me something more beautiful than what I thought I wanted. I now have life-long friends that value me, and I never imagined I would have that. It is great to be there for a friend at their time of need. But if they are bringing you down and have become a roadblock to you reaching your goals, it may be necessary to create distance (not necessarily cut them off). You cannot save anyone from themself, and everyone has the responsibility of bettering their own life. It's not your burden to bear, and surely not if you're both drowning. The genuine love will always remain, perhaps not your presence until you can grow into a better version of yourself, and a person who can elevate others without being weighed down.
