The old man touches his ringfinger at 3:32 and you can see he's got a ring on, i think the girl was his now dead wife and he's remembering when they met early on.

Im back 9 months later to say I now just noticed too there's a quick shot of his hand on which you see the ring at 0:13, as he lays on the asphalt dying. This makes it pretty clear to me then as both these shots are too gratuitous otherwise.

I never understood why this video uses a different version of the song. The album version is way more filled in and whole sounding. Makes the theme of memory feel way more prevalent with how lofi and dreamy the album version is.

Also, words cannot express how much I miss this band. Listening to the Breather demos from a few years back has helped ease the pain, but god this band was incredible.

What is this video about? Not the lyrics, the video. Is the video about the older man reminiscing about his life, like flashing before his eyes? I'm guessing it starts out with him remembering things as a child, then as a young man (the guy in denim jacket) and his memories go back and forth showing the time he spent with his friends and the girl?

+Alec B "Officially" The focus of Runner is how memory functions as a form of personal archaeology. It is an observant comment on recollecting the experience of youth - love, friendships, heartbreaks, etc. It reflects the hostile reactions to the mundanities ofeveryday life as people try to find something to do when they have nothing to do. The video was shot in Los Angeles, CA and Long Beach, CA between October 2012 and December 2012.
