몬엑 해외스케줄에서 인터뷰할때 창균이가 제일 나서서 얘기하지만 알고보면 멤버들 전부 적극적으로 말하려고 하고있는..연차가 꽤 쌓였음에도 배우고 노력하는 몬엑이들 넘 멋있어

진짜 영어는 자신감이라는 말이 맞는 것 같아요. 몬스타엑스는 전원 한국인이라 리스닝은 창균이의 도움을 받을 때도 있지만 인터뷰 하는 거 보면 영어 실력이 완벽하진 않더라도 태도가 참 좋아서 보는 사람도 어색하지 않고 즐겁게 볼 수 있더라고요. 그리고 해가 지날 때마다 영어 실력이 향상된 게 보여서 참 대단하다고 느꼈어요. 바쁜 와중에 영어 공부까지 하려면 얼마나 힘들었을지.. 재민님도 영어 실력 는 거 보니까 정말 대단한 것 같더라구요.. 다들 진짜 멋있네요

몬엑 창균이는 영어 잘하고 다른 멤버들도 못하는건 아니고 조금씩 할줄 알고 배우고있어서멋짐 특히 주헌이는 발음이나 억양 넘 좋아 ㅠㅠ

엔시티가 미국 투어를 1달 정도 했었는데 태용이가 그 후에 슈퍼엠으로 미국활동을 하면서 영어 담당을 하고 있었더라구요. 미국투어 때 많이 보고 듣고 배웠다고 하네요… 물론 슈퍼엠에서는 특히 마크랑 텐이 인터뷰에서 영어로 답하는 경우가 많은데 태용이도 가끔 영어로 답하는 거 보니까 정말 대단해요…

그냥 몬베베로서 첨언해보자면 아이엠은 어릴때 7년 영어권에서 산 경험이 있고 (+수정했어요) 주헌이 기현 형원이는 90년대생들 그 시절에 기본적으로 영어과외받던 경험이 있는것같아요 기현이는 어릴적 원어민쌤 언급한적있고 형원이도 영어학원에 돈많이 썼는데 지금 영어못해서 속상하다는 식의 언급을 가끔핬고 주헌이는 진짜 듣는귀랑 발음에서 천재적인 재능을 타고 났음 나도 첨엔 해외파인줄 알았음 기본적으로 몬엑 멤버들의 영어에 대한 자세는 최대한 영어로 하되 답답하면 한국어로 정확하게 전달하기임 나 영어 못해요 안해요 틀리면 쪽팔림 이런 마인드 전혀 없고 누가 물어보면 투어도 오래했고 영어인터뷰도 많이 해서 이제 멤버들 다 잘해요 이런게 기본자세라 금방 는것같아요 외국어는 자신감이 젤 중요

근데 사실 애들이 티를 안내서 그렇지. 기현이랑 형원이도 영어 진짜 잘 함. 특히 기현이는 이제 진짜 그냥 원어민이던데.....점졈 넘사가 되어가고있어..ㅠ

몬스타엑스라니!!!!ㅠ 감삼다 몬스타엑스 영어권에서 정신적 지주 창균이가 있지만 다른 멤버들도 진짜 열심히 대화 참여하려고 하고 노력 많이 해요! 허니는 진짜 언어적 천재같은 느낌 발음이 너무 좋고 귀도 잘 열려있는데 기현이도 진짜 노력 많이 해서 영어 의사소통 되게 잘 되는 편이에요!!!! 그래서 다음번엔 기현이도 같이 조심스레.,,,ㅎ

몬엑 미국 인터뷰보면 점점 영어실력 늘어가는게 보여요. 초반에는 창균이 중심으로 하면서 멤버들이 거의 한국말로 인터뷰를 참여했었는데. 어느샌가 멤버들이 자연스럽게 영어로 말하고 농담하는 빈도수가 많이 늘었음ㅠㅠ 기현이는.......어느샌가 영어도 완벽하게 마스터하고 진짜 인터뷰할때마다 영어실력 느는거 보면 놀라움 그리고 어떤 언어를 하든 자신감있는 태도로 상대를 대하는게 쉽지 않은데 에티듀드 부러우면서 멋있음

뭐든 열심히 하고 앞으로 나가는게 몬엑의 매력이죠. 열정터지고 성실터지고 다들 삶의 자세가 멋있는듯요. 특히 주허니는 자신감 갖고 안 쫄고 내뱉어서 외국어할때마다 너무 기분 좋아져요 ㅎㅎ

I think you made a very good point about Monsta X. None of them are native English speakers, not even Changkyun, he just happened to live abroad for a few years when he was young, korean is still his mother tongue. However, they made such great efforts to learn other languages especially English and Japanese. Most of the time, they don’t even need translators anymore because they can understand perfectly well. Maybe they struggle to find the right words to express what they’re trying to say but their efforts are really commendable. I love that Changkyun always give the other members a chance to answer questions in interviews and only intercept when needed.

두 그룹 다 좋아하고 해외에서 영어로 생활하고 공부하는 사람인데 두 그룹 영어 뭔가 진짜 다른데 비슷함 ㅋㅌㅋ 몬엑은 진짜 해외에서 활동하게 되면서 영어를 할 수 있는 사람이 막내 한 명 밖에 없으니까 다들 열심히 공부해서 영어 인터뷰에서도 자신감있게 리스닝 스피킹까지 어느정도 다 하게 된거고 엔시티는 영어 쓰는 멤버들이 워낙 많고 컨텐츠도 많아서 한국인 멤버들도 영어를 듣는 게 일상에서 자연스러워진 거 같음 그래서 말하는 건 조금 서툴긴 하지만 영어 질문하면 멤버들도 다 대답을 잘해줘서 다들 습득이 빠른 거 같음

All Monsta X members have really improved their english skills since debut especially their diction and pronunciation.

I.M isn't the only english speaker in the group anymore. Jooheon is pretty good and Kihyun sounds like a native, the other members are also catching up

I saw Jaemin and i clicked As there are many members in NCT, the language range is really wide especially in WayV, all members can speak three languages. For Jaemin, that boy is still working hard in English and keeps improving, but by now he knows three languages - Japanese, Korean, English and really basic sentences in Chinese. Off topic but Jaemin looks super handsome, and joheon(?) too

This is fun! I just came here seeing Jaemin on the thumbnail. Boy has gotten better at speaking English, I'm proud of his process and thanks to Mark being there to help him. I actually enjoyed watching this. Didn't feel like a boring lesson at all. Like they said learning a new language is like having another life, after getting into NCT, I got interested in learning Korean, mandarin and Cantonese. Have fun learning~

Jaemin is really amazing! He studied English language while being busy and when he doesn't even have American roots, like the others. He's really praiseworthy!

Monsta X!!!! I honestly enjoy hearing them speak English and they’ve been getting better and better over the years. IM definitely helps out alot and he was their pillar in the early years of their expansion to the US. He did an amazing job, considering how he probably stopped speaking English when he returned to Korea!! MX is so good now because of a combination of IM’s lead and the members themselves work really hard too! Many of the members watch many western shows (prison break, Emily in Paris etc) too, they definitely pick it up from there! If you watch their videos in recent years, you can see that each member can pretty much hold a conversation in English without much difficulty. Jooheon’s pretty gifted in languages not just English, he has that innate ability in him to catch the intonation/rhythm of different languages, especially when he spoke mandarin! Could be also attributed to his insane talent with music

Monsta X worked incredibly hard to learn english in order to better communicate with the international community of fans, even putting forth two full english albums(which needs more credit in my opinion). I would love to see groups like NCT and SEVENTEEN make albums in english as well. It is fun to see the creative differences involved in composing/singing in a foreign language, as seen in Japanese releases

Jooheon have another lvl of confidence. This what what we need when we learn another language and he's articulation 💯

요즘 영어 잘하는 아이돌이 많아서 각종 억양에 다 매력을 느끼게 됩니다ㅋㅋㅋ 한동안 로제 억양에 빠져있다가 남도현 영국 영어에 빠져있다가 마크랑 쟈니 영어 번갈아가며 빠져있다가 이젠 아이엠 영어에 빠져있는중.. 근데 다 따라해보며 느낀거지만 앞에서 언급한 아이돌들은 다들 사람 자체가 되게 자신감 넘치고 매력적이라 더 따라하고 싶어지는듯. 그리고 엔시티랑 몬스타엑스 영어 모음집 같은 거 보면서 든 지극히 주관적인 생각은 엔시티는 이 영상에서처럼 그냥 일상생활 속에서 원어민들이랑 놀면서 재미있고 자연스럽고 실용적인 스타일로 쑥쑥 배우는 느낌이었고 몬스타엑스는 약간 유학 가서 생존 목적으로 배우는 느낌? 몬엑 옛날 영상이랑 비교적 최근 영상 몇개 봤는데 다들 영어실력 엄청 늘어있어서 깜짝 놀람. 엔시티는 영어 쓰는 멤들도 많고 국적도 다양하다보니까 뭔가 언어 듣는 귀가 트이는 느낌이었음 영어 듣기는 다들 잘 되는듯.

It’s really heart-warming that they are learning English so fans from around the world can talk with them as well. In return, I think it will be just as kind if persons from around the world give a shot at learning their language. Not just Korean, but any other language that we may come across often.

I.M from MONSTA X is my favourite idol: he has so many skills. He can dance,write a lot of beautiful songs. He has such a deep and beautiful voice. He is very intelligent and interesting person.

Since I'm not a native speaker, I can confirm all these methods and tricks, one of the things helped me the most is the fact that I wanted to know more about Monsta X, but most of the videos have subs only in english, so that motivated me to study hehe

Kihyun is another fantastic example of one of the Monsta X members who is basically fluent in English but has never lived abroad, his enunciation and pronunciation are almost perfect, and when they do English variety interviews there have been several times where he and Jooheon have held conversation and spoken to eachother in perfect English. As a native English speaker if I weren’t already a fan of theirs I would have assumed both of them have studied abroad before! In one of their BAZAAR interviews Minhyuk asked for what the word 양/Yang translated to in English, because he was looking for the word ‘quantity’- Kihyun responded with Sheep (to mess with him) and IM responded with the actual answer to help him- quantity 😂 Language learning is so fascinating!

입덕 전에 주허니 보면서 쟨 외국에서 온 것같은데 문법이 안맞는게 많아서 뭐지?했는데 토종 한국인에다가 발음이 기깔나는 거였더라구요 ㅎ 진짜 발음은 현지인 ㅎ 영어 인터뷰보면 숨은 실력자는 기현이랑 형워니 인듯한데 형워니는 한국말도 인터뷰때많이 안하니깐 그런듯하고 기현이는 거의 이해하고 대답도 하지만 본인이 원하는 만큼의 뉘앙스로 대답하는건 아직 조금 모자란듯한 느낌이예요

I am trying so hard to learn Korean. All I listen to is kpop and want to understand not only the song lyrics but what they are saying in interviews and live broadcasts. It's great that they are learning English, but us non-Koreans should at least try to learn their language too. I love both groups, but Monsta X and especially Jooheon are my absolute favorite.

there are definitely more great english speaking moments from all of monsta x that are supportive, as well as funny moments. all the members speak english pretty well and they even surprise each other sometimes. Kihyun posts in both english and korean so he can show love to both the kr and intl fans.
