My mom just passed away on June 27th of this year from a long battle with metastatic breast cancer in the 4th stage. I lost my best friend. I am so heartbroken. This song is one that she would always dedicate to me. It feels cheesy and 90's now but its a perfect song for a mother to a daughter or child. Hug your mom and tell her how grateful you are for her and please be patient and learn as much as you can, even when you want to be more independent. I miss her so much. She never let on how much she was struggling, as a mom she didn't want us to worry about her. She was the best mom. 💞

I lost my mom in 2019, on my 30th birthday. I never thought for a second that I would find her laying there in my grandma's room that day. I actually called her over to look after my grandmother while I worked a 12 hour shift. My grandma had suffered a mini stroke and couldn't be left alone. My mom agreed and i went to work. Mama was pretty much dependant on an oxygen tank to see her through. When i came home that morning after my shift, i found her face down, key to her oxygen in hand. I knelt down beside her and felt her neck for a pulse. She was cold to the touch.. she was gone.. Anyways she used to sing this song to my brother and me when we were little. I find myself missing her and immediately am reminded of this song. I actually had it played on the day of her memorial service. This and "Like a Bird" by Nelly Fertado. I miss my mom so much, especially these days. I would give anything to have her throw her arms around me and say " baby girl it's all gonna be okay". Sorry so long but I'm appreciative of your time in reading this. How do we get through? Its been 6 years and I'm still not over losing her. I still feel so lost without her..

Every year in my high school chorus, during the spring concert we’d perform a song just for the seniors. They would go to the back of the auditorium and start singing with the rest of the choir singing the background vocals. Halfway through the song the seniors slowly walked toward the front while singing. This song was my senior song, and the last song I sang in high school chorus which was honestly my favorite part of high school. So this song brings back lots of good memories ☺️

It's crazy how much a song can mean to a person without the artist even knowing. My mum has always wanted to be a singer and she'd sing this song to my brother and I when we were children. I'm 24 now and he's 19. I weep every time I hear this song and think about all the great memories my mummy has given us. Thankfully, I still have her here now, but I know that when she's taken up to Heaven that this song will be one of the few things keeping me going.

I had my daughter when she was an early teen to listen to this song and read the lyrics. It's not about a "dance" but about life, taking chances, living. My mom had a brain injury and was vegetative for 6 months. Against all odds, she is awake, conscious and can enjoy her family. She is the same person with the same memories. But unfortunately she cannot walk or speak. Her mom sent me this song to play for her and she sang it and started crying. She used to have so much life. I hope she dances again one day.
