I mean, I get from a PR perspective to a degree, but I thought he was just blunt, but not a dick. I bought one a few days ago and used it for the first time this morning (and before using it I read the cleaning tip in the instructions) and so far I am very please. Granted it was the first use, but I am stingy and will definitely be cleaning it after each use.

What disinfectant/cleaner do you recommend? My partner bought this and it’s great, but he’s severely prone to cystic acne and his dermatologist has him using some serious stuff to get his skin under control, so he REALLY needs to be disinfecting it before and after every use. This is the only reason he can even shave his head, he’s never been able to shave no matter what type of razor he used, as his skin breaks out horribly, far worse than his already bad baseline! The instructions just direct to find some cleaner for electric shavers on Amazon, but many are simply that, a cleaner, with no disinfectant, while most disinfectants aren’t made for cleaning electric shavers and could be really bad for the metal. It would be quite helpful if you could at least recommends one or a few that work best in both regards for your particular shaver!

@Mir Mir you can use andis cool care spray to disinfect after you clean the shaver. Or you can use barbercide solution to bath the shaving head. Barbercide mixed with water is what barbers use to clean the tools at a shop. But andis cool care is a fast spray solution.

Did the deep clean earlier today. I just got my Bald Buddy yesterday (thanks, Amazon Prime Days!). I have a foil type shaver I use sometimes when I'm lazy and don't want to do a "real" shave. But if I miss a few days, neither my foil shaver nor my adjustable safety razor will do the job. I figured I'd test the BB out on about a week's worth of growth just to see what it could do. WOW! I couldn't believe it, but it worked. Now, I had to do half my head, then open it up and do a good clean on it, then do the other half of my head, deep clean, then just ran it over my whole head for a touch up. I'm seriously impressed with this product!
@TheCutBuddy

Love to hear this! You can actually do 1 quarter to 1 half of your head and then dunk it in a cup of water and run it for 10 seconds. Then do the other half of head and clean at the end! Will save you about 2-5 minutes avoiding 1 deep clean!

Sorry to hear about your experience. You have to run/power on the shaver in the cup of water or in the faucet during the shave. If it is fighting through alot of cream and hair, it needs a way to throw it up. All rotary shavers (not just ours) will do the same exact thing if not cleared when they begin to bog down. If we can be of any help, please reach out. But there is no way to make any rotary shaver automatically drain all debri unless the user listens to it while shaving.

@TheCutBuddy
@TheCutBuddy Жыл бұрын
Sorry for delay in response. Yes this is razor build up. Please do a quick deep clean and then moving forward make sure you flush build up by powering on the shaver under a faucet or bowl of water. I typically flush build up every time I do 1 full run on my head. I do 2 full runs on my head every 1 shave. So I flush the shaver 2 times each shave. I shave with shaving cream, though, which causes build up faster.

You can use dish detergent or hand soap in a bowl of water. Then, run the blades in that solution for 30 seconds. Or there are rotary cleaner solutions you can buy on amazon. Those cleaning solutions are basically alcohol, water, and detergent mixed together. @TheCutBuddy
@TheCutBuddy 9 ай бұрын
You have to be careful about oil rotary shavers. But what i do sometimes is after cleaning it 100%, i will put a small drop of oil on all 5 blade fans. Then, i run the machine for 30 seconds to get a layer of oil between the foil guard and the spinning blade. You dont want to overdue this. If you use the shaver wet already, you can get away without doing this as shaving cream will keep the blade lubricated and cool.

When you remove the whole head and press power, does the unit stay on, or does it still cut off? If the unit stays on with the head off, then it means you still need to do a deeper clean. Ok, I commend your “video” attempt to describe the cleaning process, but your “tone” clearly demonstrates your immense contempt for your customers. Not everyone has easy access to the Internet, or is aware that you even have videos explaining how to use and clean your product. The fault lies NOT with us, your patrons. It’s with YOUR MARKETING DEPARTMENT. NOWHERE on the packaging are the words DEEP CLEAN written. The instructions ONLY imply that simply rinsing in water does the trick, when that is FAR from the case! I diligently rinsed my blades during every shave, yet after only 4 uses the motor kept stopping. When I finally figured out how to open the blades, of course they were packed with hair. You must assume that we, (the consumers) innately have a blindspot of how to operate your product. However YOUR blindspot is not knowing that your instructions are vastly INCOMPLETE on the packaging. My suggestion is that you explain more fully on the packaging itself how your product functions, complete with diagrams. Forget about light cleaning Your instructions should say, to clean product: #1. Pull each blade apart and thoroughly clean with water and a toothbrush. #2. Snap blades back into place, and rinse in a cup of water, until all hair is removed. #3. Repeat, after every shave for best results. #4. Please review our KZfaq videos at www.cutbuddy.com for more in-depth information This way, you won’t have to worry about so many returns. The only returns will come from those who ignored the instructions on the packaging itself. You’re welcome 😇

@@TheCutBuddy THANK YOU! 🙏🏾 By the way, I “get” that being up front about the necessity of consistent deep cleaning, may occur as more of a hassle, or even dissuade some people from purchasing the product. But it “might” be better to deal with the downside of transparency, than the frustration of angry, confused customers. When the Cut Buddy is thoroughly clean the joy of using it makes it worth the hassle IMO You can even add “Use without deep cleaning at your own risk” 🤷🏽‍♂️

@Tonabillity i can assure you we did not try to avoid pointing out that the product can deep cleaned. I think it was an oversight on our part. If the shaver is ran in a cup of water this usually avoids the need to deep clean. Actually I am bald and I dont deep clean at all because running in a cup of water does the trick. We will do better to explain that running in a cup of water is best way to clean. Our ceo usually will get on the phone with customers and make sure they are happy. We aren't in the business of selling something to you that you dont need. I think we are just a business who is still learning. So we appreciate your feedback because we will make necessary changes in instructions and make it easier to access resources.

@@TheCutBuddy I was fortunate to see this video before purchasing Cut Buddy. So when I got it, I made sure that I consistently rinsed the blades frequently throughout each shave. And I would rinse it THOROUGHLY after each shave, because the consequences of not rinsing, were made VERY clear. So when my device malfunctioned, after only a few shavings, I thought that it couldn’t possibly need a deep cleaning, because I had been so diligent about rinsing. So I simply switched to spare blades that I’d purchased. After watching this video again, I just happened to open up the blades, and sure enough, they were PACKED with hair. The only thing I could think of, is, perhaps I wasn’t shaving frequently enough, and my hair may have been growing too long for the rinsing method to be effective. Again, perhaps there could be some sort of warning about this on the packaging. 🤷🏾 Like I said, when the device is thoroughly clean, it’s really an awesome shaver, and a DREAM to use 💫 I just needed some way to upgrade my capacity to discover my blindspots about maintenance of the machine. My apologies for such harsh feedback. (not a cool way to launch a new year) Perhaps once addressed, it will be the last angry rant you’ll ever have to read. If you run them in a cup of water, there would be no need to pick at it. I have never deep cleaned my shaver because I run it in a cup of water during and after shaving.

@@TheCutBuddy I tried that and all it did was get the hairs wet.

@ArtyJames did you do this after a few shaves or from the first time you ever used it? If it has already built up hairs over time without running in cup of water, then you need to do a deep clean 1 time to "reset" it. Then, from that point forward, you just use the cup or running it in faucet method. If you are happy with your Norelco, nobody is telling you to change your lifestyle. We are happy if you are happy regardless of brand.

Mostly shows dirty unwashed blocked shavers for most of it & the ‘deep clean’ is just sinking the heads in warm water whilst running it , which I do after every shave anyway & that takes about 30secs,, not 14mins🥱. A deep clean surly is the cleaning of the actual blades , under those plastic guards, that’s what we want to know how to do, not just dip it in water and let it Self clean & then claim to have ‘deep cleaned ‘ it, on video , for quarter of a hour🥱😤

Thank you for the feedback. Running the shaving head in a solution of warm water and soap will make the shaver throw up anything behind the plastic guards. Soaking it in water can help because it breaks up any liquids that solidified. Then, running/powering on the shaver in a faucet or cup or water. If you are having trouble, feel free to send us photos at customer@thecutbuddy.com. This video is from the original shaving heads we used. No user should still be using these heads as we stopped making them more than 1 year ago.

I have a similar product, but the issue with is that the blades aren't turning/cutting even after opening them and cleaning them with a brush. Do you have any advice on how to fix this problem, if it's fixable?

When you remove the whole blade head off, does the motor/gear spin?

@ZoranCuckovic thanks for the info. The fact that it spins is a good thing. Have you tried to let the blades soak in detergent and warm water overnight? If that doesn't work, i would just buy new replacement blade. But your shaver works.

@@TheCutBuddy No I haven't tried soaking them in the detergent and warm water. I will try that and go from there. Thank you for the advice.

After watching many videos on this product it seems much easier just using a razor 🪒

Any rotary shaver needs to be cleaned and taken care of. Its like any electronic. Over time, you will spend much more money on blades for razors. Its worse fo the environment, and you will cut yourself one day with a razor. I can guarantee this. When you are ready to try it out, we have 30 day money back guarantee.
