You being cringe is just having a good time and doing what you love. People these days always care about what others are doing and how people view them but if you forget about all that nothing really matters and you're just living your life to the fullest.

I get called "cringe" all the time on my channel, and I honestly see it as a compliment. It tells me that I'm pursuing that which makes me happy and brings me joy, regardless of whether or not it fits with society's narrative of what people "should" be doing. @@notus299 because it means I’m on the right path for me. People often cringe at what makes them uncomfortable in themselves. Part of my work with my content is encouraging people to challenge their projections and become more accepting and welcoming to diversity, and the layers that we each possess as humans. I often say “the cringe is where the light shines in.” When I cringe at things, for instance, I ask myself the question, “what about this other person triggers something in me? What can I explore in myself?” When people cringe, that reaction has nothing to do with the other. It’s just a projection of what is going on inside oneself.

I've been told many, many times how 'cringe' I am for doing the things I like or even accepting a favour, but I've come to realise after watching this video that, 'people just don't understand', and that's perfectly fine, I don't need those types of people in my life, only the ones that wants to understand more.

I try to live by this too. The hardest thing is dealing with judgmental folks. In high school when I started making short films I lost friends because they thought even doing that was too out there. They're so afraid of being seen as cringe they judge anyone who embraces it. It must suck to live with such anxiety. Embracing the cringe is like hitting a release valve. There's certainly some nuance in cringe (it can stop people from doing things that aren't in their best interest), but overall embracing cringe is how people evolve and feel more comfortable with themselves. I also really like your editing and filming. Good shit Jake!

@theblasteffect4499

Think about this So what's implied here is basically, "the opinions of others about you aren't important." True but that mustn't be ignored either, and neither should other types of opinions. The way to not get offended or have any reaction from others opinions of you is to not accept the ones that aren't true, don't matter, or are otherwise meaningless. Basically, don't react until you realize whether someone's opinion of you is true, and if it's a negative opinion about you, perhaps it's useful if it's something you can change, or if it's something else that isn't useful like an insult. It's not ignoring to realize something's just wrong. Ultimately, just think about what's said and don't react internally or externally until you've thought it through enough. Maybe

Not caring what people think will always be the core aspect of being cool. If you disagree, I don't care.

I think my perspective on this truly flipped like a switch at one exact moment- My friends and I were talking about how we see each other, a true heart to heart around a campfire. We had one rule during these talks: while we were talking about one person, that person was not able to speak, and was only allowed to do so after the discussion had finished. Every single time, without fail, the person being discussed was overwhelmed with all the genuine, positive things they were hearing about themselves. A few of us were brought to tears. I hadn't thought too much of the reactions each time beyond being glad they were happy about what we had all said, until it reached my turn. I learnt that my friends see me as exactly the person I wanted to be for so many years. Cool, fun, energetic, chill, and everything in between. Everything that I was so convinced that I could never be. Everything I truly believed was impossible for someone as "cringe-ridden" as me. They talked about how my interests and enthusiasm made it interesting to talk to me every time, and every new week was a gamble on what you would hear about next. That my "cringy" references just made the conversations all that much more fun. Hearing about all of this, not being able to retaliate and simply listen on as my closest friends discussed how I was to them, was truly life-changing. I don't have to change who I am for acceptance. I can be as cringe as I want, as they will always accept me as I accept them. I truly hope that everyone is able to find these people for themselves. The people who will accept you as you truly are, cringe and all.
