He should mention that there is a small window to use the paint once you've mixed them together, and if it's a hot day and you have your windows open, it will glop up even faster and become impossible to work with. Don't mix big batches unless you know you can get it down within an hour. In 90+ temperatures you might have 20 minutes, so this probably isn't a summertime in the middle of Florida project.

It is A LOT of prep work. And unless you have solvent to clean your brushes and pans, this stuff will ruin it. But the end results are great. I would let it cure/harden longer than the 3 days TBH. I let mine cure for 5 just to make sure everything was dry. This also comes in a spray paint format but I preferred the two part mix. Mix it well!! Good luck DIYers!

Bathroom cleaner- (whatever you use to clean soap scum and hard water deposits) Sponges, rags, green scrubbies Tile etcher (TSP) Sand paper- for wet applications A sander Tub and tile paint- 2 part mix (buy more than you think you need because some stores don’t have it inside the store, and you don’t want to be in panic mode trying to get more of you run out, because you’ll likely use quite a bit more than you plan on. I thought I needed two *according to the package recommendations* but it took 4 coats to cover my circa 50’s pink and blue tile.. which translated into 3.5 cans for my average/small bathroom. Once mixed it can’t be kept.) Rollers or brushes (I recommend a roller- the fine lint free type for cupboard/cabinet paint- brushes leave marks and bristles behind, and the foam rollers grow into a corn dog size mess and fall off the roller) Tape Work quickly- and keep most of the paint in the can with the lid on. Only pour what you can use quickly into your pan, or it starts getting gummy REAL quick! Once it’s gummy it’s not easy to deal with, and then you’re applying it way too thick! Good luck!

We’re 2 years into ours. To be honest, the bottom of the tub took some hits when my hubby aggressively bathed our 60 pound English Bulldog in it. The claws. So, it had to be redone, and needs it again. Also, the countertop has taken a few hits from things getting dropped.. it chips a bit.. BUT all in all it’s still a lot cleaner and more attractive than our circa 1950’s pink and blue tile, until we can level the entire bathroom and start from the ground up. This is also the only upstairs bathroom, and therefore gets plenty of use by 3 people (and 3 dogs) who aren’t exactly easy on it! The lower use areas tho (like the walls, including inside the tub/shower) still look perfect. Water doesn’t seem to be a problem.. nor does soap scum, or mold/mildew. It’s chipping and…. Oh- another thing, it can stain. Daughter got some hair dye on it- that was a nightmare to get off.. and hubby sets down his cologne bottles and leaves behind some color once in a while. Sometimes it will come off with Comet or magic eraser- but then of course you’re left with a bit of a duller spot. Keep some touch up on hand. I’d still do it again tho! The pink and blue with mildew highlights isn’t missed. 😂 Consider: anything you paint is going to need some amount of upkeep! And the upkeep depends on how much use it gets and how you treat it. It hasn’t been catastrophic for us, with lots of usual/fairly hard use, (also I clean and treat it like it’s typical tile/tub/sink) and we definitely feel like the bathroom is cleaner, and most certainly more appealing to the eye! Imo this is the perfect long term short term fix! Lol. Meaning.. it works great even longer term but it will still be nice when we can afford to gut it and start over with actual/unpainted tile, tho that’s FAR from the top of the priority list now that we’ve done this! (I’m actually here refreshing my memory because there’s a 3/4 bathroom downstairs with a HIDEOUS shower that I’m thinking it’s time for me to address! Gonna hit it again with the epoxy paint!) Actual tile also needs periodic upkeep too tho. There’s no mildew or mold when the grout is covered with epoxy! More advice if you want it: I STRONGLY recommend GETTING. A. BREATHING. APPARATUS!! They’re cheap on Amazon and you definitely need it! NOT a N95 type paper mask. An actual respirator! This stuff smells HORRID and hangs for DAYS!!! Like a combination between strong lacquer paint and gasoline! Also VENTILATION is key!! We didn’t have any ventilation when I did the upstairs bathroom (it’s a glass block window and the exhaust fan was broken) and the entire house had a powerful stink for DAYS after. Headache inducing, even with all the other windows and doors open! Was better with the ceiling fan that was installed for round 2, with towels shoved under the door.. but an open window IN the bathroom and strong fans to blow it out and suck it up would be ideal! Also, work in small batches. Exposing all of the paint to the air makes it goopy, like trying to paint with glue, and then you’re getting chunks of roller or brush hairs in your paint and it’s also going on too thick and globby. Keep most of it in the can with the lid on, and pour out what you can use quickly in to your tray. Work fast, and I wouldn’t use a brush! It leaves lines. The foam rollers some sites recommend GROW.. until they’re falling off the roller.. looking like a corn dog. The best thing I found was the low lint fine rollers for painting cabinets. Left a nice finish pattern and was the least problematic. Make sure there’s no dust in the bathroom that’s going to get blown into the paint by the fan.. because you’re not getting it out once it’s in, and you can very clearly see it! Hope that novel helps! 😂 Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that's 50s tile, not 70s. Where's the after shots? What's the point of showing how terrible it looked before if you're not going to show how well it turned out. I don't believe this career presenter did any work on his own personal bathroom.
