When I first played I thought swamp of aeonia was the poison shithole of elden ring that every fromsoft game has, and I was like not bad. It was easy due to not getting rot on torrent. But when I made it to lake of rot and realized you couldn't summon torrent I was like "oh shit here we go again".

The Fire Cleanse Me enchantment is life saving or certain Boluses though a real pain to farm those ingredients or an Armor set as well. Still this edit had me dying of laughter cus it’s exactly how i felt first time crossing here!

i didn't even know Fire Cleanse me was a thing, so I just ran across and hit the grace while chugging flasks. Then I did a slow exploration, teleporting back to the grace when I ran out of flasks. It was torture.

Even with it, if your immunity is bad you have to reapply it almost immediately after the animation ends

Just did it for the first time yesterday. Had to switch my flasks out and craft like 10 preserving boluses to finish the area and mind you I’m running a cancerous pure INT build so I was mainly using cerulean flasks and had never once crafted anything until then. Quite the experience lol.

I love this. But it’s not bad. Stock up on bolluses or have flame, cleanse me, then run passed every basilisk in there. You’ll be through it in a couple minutes. It’s also worth noting that the mushroom gear set can also come in handy as it boosts immunity substantially. Worth going to get if you’re not a Faith Giga Chad that can skip farming resources to craft bolluses because they just tank the Rot.

Everyone talking about how they use items to cross lake of rot meanwhile my lazy butt just put all my flasks to health and had physic flask have the hp restoration over a period of time and booked it Was actually right at the spot where the grand cloister entrance was but thought: "Thats to obvious to be the safe path. Its to close to the shore and very noticeable." Died ten feet from safety
