your high-paying soul-sucking job makes you broke

Hey guys, this is a rather spontaneous video where I chat about working a meaningless job, and how it can ruin your financial habits and mess you up overall, even when you think it will get you ahead thanks to the good pay ✨
This is just my experience, obviously, but I found that taking a pay cut and switching careers made a lot of sense and helped me feel great every day which, in turn, meant that I started spending way less money.

00:51 a bit of background: how I ended up having a high-paying soul-sucking job and how it messed me up mentally and financially
03:39 why I stayed at this job long enough for it to mess me up
05:00 the moment it all started to click for me
08:05 how it all ties with shitty jobs ruining your finances
10:25 doing the math & realising I could go with a lower-paid job I would actually enjoy
11:32 what happened when I actually changed jobs and roles

This is my exact situation with my current employeer. All these symptoms you're listing like hating your job, buying crap, indulging in food. I'm working my way out of it, but I'm glad to hear you're past it and that you had family to fall back on.

Hi! I’m sorry you’re going through it, but I’m glad you’re working your way out!! You got it ❤️‍🔥 Yeah, I was super lucky that I had people to back me up, not sure how well I’d cope without them

I totally understand what you're talking about. Been there, done that, had almost the same ups and downs like you. I really laughed listening to your story because at almost every corner there was "old me" doing and feeling exactly like you. I really think that no amount of money can do what a job you really like doing and a positive atmosphere at/around work can do for one's soul and well being,

Gosh, I’m sorry you went through that too! Yeah, money isn’t worth it at the end of the day 🥴 even though I sometimes have those thoughts lol that maybe I can do 1 year in business development or smth, and then not work for another year or two - but I’d probably be dead inside one month into this experiment

Thanks a lot for sharing all those details from your experience and personal life, this is much more better than videos from other popular influencers, sharing real details without reading from a script, it's a life changer! Thanks again, Ksenia!

Thank you ♥️ I think having a script is helpful if you’re worried about forgetting smth, but yeah, I definitely know what you’re talking about

I can see you are trying to make the connection between high-paying but stressful jobs and going broke financially. The way I see it is that these are two separate things. If you take a job ONLY for the money, it won't work in the long run. Instead, consider pursuing a passion-something you believe in and meaningful to you, so that you can have a career, not just a job. For those who use money to fix their mental problems, it will never work and it has never worked. It's not employer's job to make the employee happy, even though that would be nice. The reason is simple-they pay you and expect something in return. For those who have zero interest and perhaps talent, then you have very little control of your life, sad to say.

Hi! No, that’s not really the connection I was trying to make. Stressful jobs can be rewarding and exciting, but in my case - the jobs wasn’t that challenging really, at least not once you’ve spent a few months doing it. It’s more about the nature of the job I think - it seemed meaningless and tideous with all the silly metrics etc. That’s what has lead to my burnout, not the high pace or smth like that. Money definitely doesn’t fix mental health issues, and it’s not the company’s job to look after you either, I’m with you on that one
