Another great video. Like you,I despised free loaders. One thing is if you are having financial issues, another thing is completely abusing people's benevolence. I'm also a teacher, and I remembered that I went out one time with a few colleagues for a beer and we were all having fun. A few minutes later another work colleague appears. This woman only paid for her beers, but she had no problem eating other people's food. Everyone at the table, except her, bought fries, pizza, popcorn chicken and quesadillas. She must think that she's God's gift to the world because she ended up having dinner on us. After that time, I have avoided her like the plague. No wonder this woman is over 30 and still single. Funny thing is that she's Chinese and in Chinese society she would be considered as a leftover woman 😅. No one should have this sense of entitlement. Keep up the great work Exile.

Interesting video, I just wish that stories of creeps and poor sports weren't so prevalent in the hobby at large. I would expand on your point at 29:01. I play a lot of 30k and as it is 7th Ed with some extra steps, there are options that can clear a table pretty easily. As a result, I ask if there are any particular ways a person wishes to play. Can their list cope with superheavies or do I need to leave the Shadowsword at home? Did they want to play a scenario from one of the Black Books or a more competitive game? Perhaps they have a cool scenario in mind, like 7 Knights Errant vs a 1.25k traitor list after watching Seven Samurai? And the story about Mike was really cool. It's a damn shame what war does to a person and it's great to hear of a community rallying around to help those in need, regardless of the context.

^ This. Dialogue is so important, even more so in 7th ed when flyers were so overpowered I'd ask if my opponent could reasonably deal with stuff like that. The goal is for both players to have fun not just grind down your opponent.

I guess the story about the guy that needed medical help and was likely saved by the guys in the shop showing genuine concern instead of blatantly refusing him is a good answer for why a "no stinky people"-sign might be problematic and could potentially remove a part of the "therapeutic" and soulsaving effect the hobby can have if the participants don't go about such situations with prejudice. Also: Yea, that last stories employ sounds like a genius businessman. Guy: *comes wanting to buy something specific* Employee: nah, that's not nice and not popular. Buy this *pulls up insert something that's completely different* this is more shiny and more popular! Guy: well, I want the other thing Employee: *continues toocknthe other thing* Guy: well guess I'm buying nothing and I'll leave Employee: *surprised face* oh I wonder why store barely sells anything....

17:12 camo schemes on infantry miniatures doesn’t really give off the effect and looks sloppy from the distances you normally see them, which is unfortunate. I had a scheme I LOVED for my tau that looked baller up close, but on the table they looked sorta light blue scribbled over dark blue.

That second to last one. Sounds like relying on "gotcha moments?" Which, sure, in a tourney where players are expected to be knowledgeable about other armies, probably a fair strategy, but in a friendly game you should be a good sport. In the games with my friend I'll routinely tell him, "Hey, before you do that, I've got a unit/strategem/ability that lets me do X". since we don't know exactly what each others' armies can do.

I mean, what are you supposed to do with 100 free space marines. The cost of buying cases for them probably isn't worth it. For me, I would try and set up some simple, flat foam case for it that i hope I could get for $50, a chapter made of all custom marines would be super sweet, but I don't blame this guy for shoving them all in a bag... 100 marines is ALOT of marines.

Oh fuck. That part with the "rape threat" almost killed me. I could bet my ass on that guy was a weeb, they're always like that. But acting like that in front of a little girl it just kinda gets it to a whole new level. It's kinda concerning thinking just how many of these people there are in the hobby.

@@Dohyden2 Slaaneshe demons or as previously suggested possibly dark Eldar... But hey, could also be emperors children as they are supposed to be devoted to Slaanesh alone and nowadays there is a bunch of memes around about their *ehem* loose moral standards... While a jab in this direction might be OK among adults who would likely know an equally dark humored comeback it is absolutely uncalled for in the presence of a kid and the way he said it was so blunt that it wouldn't even pass as a dark snarky remark on the lore... I wonder if that guy would have made the same joke if the sisters player had been a boy, an adult woman or an adult guy...

27:00 Yeah inapropriate as hell, but honestly might have been a slip up too. When you play with other men around your game saying you'll rape them at the game is just an expression even in a friendly game. Certainly said stuff like that when having wars in roleplaying games. Stuff like this is why I am not a big fan of having children in stuff like that and to some extent women. You can't really speak freely with them around and need to control yourself much more. That guy probably went home embarrassed and ashamed over himself and the girl disturbed. I can't sadly think of an easy solution to this problem except that I believe 40k should be an 18+ or at least 16+ thing.

Your perspective on your one guardsmen left game is and was flawed in a way that made you feel uncomfortable. A shift in perspective might have done you good. If they all destroyed you, and left one unit left, you could have immersed yourself even further, Seeing as you had beaten each of them previously, they were shutting down the oppressive guard that was owning them. As if all the battles previously were wars fought before the big battle, All of them having meaning, All of them contributing to why they killed all but a single of your guardsmen. You could have doubled down on immersion and seen if you could have survived the battle, getting off pot shots that changed the tide, or just imagining that guardsmen stuck in the middle of an apocalyptic war, watching the rest of the game, and trying to stealthily move around the map and survive the battle. Wether he survived or non is inconsequential, because the war wasn't only about you. You may have left and gone and played another game, but you missed the opportunity to see how that war went down, Who knows, maybe they all regretted killing you because they find that later they needed you to kill someone else. This is why I don't play warhammer with people. It seems that no one I have met is truly into the level off immersive gameplay that I would want. I suppose I'm more looking for a role playing 40k experience.
