Don’t let them fool you. That shit hurt so bad the second day I thought I was dying for 13 hours straight. They left me in pain n thought Percocet 15 or Dilaudid would fix the pain part. The third day hurt bad as fu*k for 3 hours too. The fourth day I was sent home. It was my second surgery on my back. Be careful. Fuck achy. That shit hurts

I am 57 years old and will be having a 3 level laminectomy at the cervical area , C3-5 in a few weeks... ( No fusion) How long will my recovery be in regards to returning to daily activities? Cooking, Cleaning, Showering, etc. I now walk 5 miles daily and my legs aren't affected- it is mainly arm weakness. I am worried as I live alone and don't have family in the U.S.- my social worker hasn't really given me details on aftercare- what exactly I will be getting and for how long. I do not drive because of my eyesight, and currently I shop either on foot, or take the bus- I use a wheeled shopping cart, obviously I will not be able to do this for a while after surgery- pulling, pushing, even with the cart the groceries have weight- milk, potatoes, bottled water. I have addressed this with my medical team and they are shrugging it off- replying "we'll see after the surgery how you are doing" I feel that preparation should be now... and I should know what exactly, my insurance covers in terms of a CNA, provider etc. I also have myelopathy but it is in my upper body.
