I hope Croatia and their citizens get what they deserve! Non-corrupt politicians with focus on the people. Such a beautiful country with so many heartwarming people. In Sweden, you cant say "God kväll" (dobra vecer or Good evening) to somebody, they will look at you like you are retarded or get scared thinking you would rob them. In Croatia, it's impossible not to say it/hear someone saying it to you when you walk by them on a hot summer-night. I really want to live there. Life quality has a different meaning down there. Much love!
@hansstefanson46749 жыл бұрын
numerocro Yes really haha. It only works with friends, relatives and some neighbours. Swedes are very shy/dont have so much pride. Really the silent type. Also, we have Feminazis over here. They have 1 mandate in the EU-pariament. (The Feminazis= hate men, especially white men for some reason. And on top of that one of their politicans said that women should not brestfeed baby boys, because they have the advantage of being born as men and that its their fault). That sums up almost everything that's wrong with this country. Norwegians look down on us and the Fins think that we are fags :) If I would to say... get a job in Croatia I would certainly stay there.
@hansstefanson46749 жыл бұрын
numerocro Haha, ja imam Hrvatski passport ;) Roden sam u Svedsku al boja mojih venima je nesto drugo. And I know that the unemployment is high in Hrv so it doesnt feel like the right thing to do, taking a job from somebody that really really needs it and has needed for a long time.

Someone asked below why Serbs are always commenting on Croatian Videos and why they are always watching Croatian tourist videos. Well I believe that this is because most of these people watching these videos are Serbs who actually live in Croatia who are actually Croatian however who after centuries living in the current borders of Croatia still identify themselves as Serbs even though half of them have never even been to Serbia. The same thing would happen today - if an inventor whos family has been in ie Zadar Croatia for 5 generations invented a new device and they had Serbian ancestory they would all say he is Serbian. I think if Serbs in Croatia want to get acceptance they have to stop viewing themselves as a separate entity and accept that they are Croatian as many have but many still refuse to do.
@TSpike739 жыл бұрын
Assimilation is a natural process, but small nations fear they may completely lose their identity and people are thus often way more defensive than members of larger nations. Also, when it comes to states that were once part of the Yugoslav federation, we all continue to live in the same region and share borders, so those who ended up on the other side of the border keep tabs on the events in their fatherland and the war is still very fresh in everybody's memory so there's bound to be a certain degree of distrust (and often outright animosity) that contributes to enhancing people's national and nationalistic feelings. A Croat or a Serbian in Australia will assimilate more quickly than a Croat in Serbia or vice versa - they would see it as a sort of treason. Further, Australia or the USA were melting pots from the get-go and there is an understanding that "we all came from someplace else" (and rather recently if you compare it to European history) so their nationals share a slightly different kind of national pride. Finally, politicians in this region often use nationalist platforms in order to gain wide support for less than transparent, often incoherent or outright clueless programs, doing their best to keep the animosities alive.
@danbet77109 жыл бұрын
TSpike73 If they don't respect where they live they should go to where they are happy living . Also over these generations many have mixed with Croatians as there are many mixed marriages however there is still this notion that if the orthodox religion has carried over through the male dominance that any Orthodox is a Serb which as we all know is not true. These Serbs have been here for hundreds of years and many many generations not two or three like those in Australia. They speak Croatian and they follow Croatian customs- there only difference is their religion.On their passports it states they are Croatian whether they like it or not.
@TSpike739 жыл бұрын
Dan Baci I agree, one should definitely respect the country in which he/she lives, but it does not necessarily translate to changing your nationality. It's a personal choice (and religion is a separate personal choice) and being a Chinese Baptist with Swedish citizenship in Sweden or a Croatian Mormon with Australian citizenship in Australia is not a sign of disrespect towards these countries. Citizenship is separate from ethnicity.
@TSpike739 жыл бұрын
Teslic I am well aware of the fact there are many Serbs living in Croatia and that many were indeed forced to leave their homes much the same way Croats were forced from Ruma, Hrtkovci and other places in Serbia. I am also aware that there were terrible crimes committed in Jasenovac, but I am equally well aware of what is the single worst atrocity committed since WW2 and so is anyone who shows any interest in Balkans - there are very few people who do not know what happened in Srebrenica. What you should try to understand is that fascism, ethnic cleansing and war crimes constitute equally unacceptable views and crimes regardless of the nationality of persons committing them. Nonetheless, when it comes to the Balkan wars of the 90s there is indeed a crucial difference between Serbia and Croatia - the territory of the independent internationally recognized state of Croatia was invaded by Serbian troops. Croats did not launch artillery attacks on Belgrade or any city within Serbia, Serbs did launch artillery attacks on Zagreb and just about all cities in Croatia.
@TSpike739 жыл бұрын
I have indeed seen various videos, including the ones from Vukovar where the Serbs can clearly be heard singing "There will be meat, we shall slaughter the Croats". The Serbs in Croatia felt threatened and therefore chose to start killing Croatian police officers - that was the very beginning of war. The Croats in Hrtkovci felt threatened and therefore left their homes. There were no Croatian forces heading across the Serbian border to protect Croats by tearing down orthodox churches in Serbia. You have to know that one's liberal nature is put to a rather hard test once the capital of your homeland is under an artillery attack by a foreign army, so it will take time for Slovenians, Croats, Bosnians and members of other nationalities to forgive and forget, but we are trying and I always bear in mind that it's all about personal choice, not about national predilection.

I'm tired of the argument that so many Serbs lived in Croatia and so on- yes they did but get the key word here THEY LIVED IN CROATIA even you say it yourself. The issue is because you lived in Croatia does not give you the right to start your own state. You have been given too much latitude in Bosnia as it is and on the other hand complain about Kosovo. Its such a stupid argument as at the turn of the last century there were more Croatians in Montenegro than there were Montenegrin Serbs and over the century Serbs resettled here and Croatians were moved out. So should we keep saying Montenego is Croatian. Get over the past and start moving forward.
