At least check if you have good aspects to Venus from its friends Mercury and Saturn and none from its enemies-Sun and Moon. Bad love life can be if you have Venus with Moon or Venus with Sun or Saturn. Aspect from Saturn helps and mostly one from Mercury

That is funny that you say that Venus in 8th house people have a dark appearance. I think it's kind of obvious for me and I think I also have a serious look on my face because of my Venus conjunct Saturn in Leo and my Moon in Capricorn in 1st house. I am also tall and my ascendant is Sagittarius. With my Moon in Capricorn I used to be super skinny when I was younger and I felt very uncomfortable about it because I always felt very masculine in the inside but my body lacked the muscles to make me feel masculin in the outside. Later I went to the gym to fix that and now I feel better in my skin.
