Your Questions Answered - 1 | Inversion of the verb | English with Vennila
English with Vennila Mam,
#inversion #comperative #englishwithvennila
This video is the beginning of a series of videos titled, YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED, where I answer the questions asked by viewers in the comments section.
In this video, I have answered a question that is about the usage of certain expressions like 'no sooner.... than', 'hardly .....when', 'scarcely ....when', ' not only ......but also', 'lest .... should' and 'such ... as'. We find that there is an inversion of the verb when some of these expressions occur at the beginning of the sentence.

@EnglishwithVennila
@EnglishwithVennila 4 жыл бұрын
'Bought' is the past tense of 'buy' and 'brought' is the past tense of 'bring'. She bought ( வாங்கினாள்)some shirts at the new shop that opened yesterday. She brought (கொண்டுவந்தாள்) all the letters that I had written to her.
