Ray is a car dealer's worst nightmare! He knows how the process works and is well-informed on the carrying fees that the dealership has had to pay over the past several months. In this scenario, the car dealer isn't selling him a car...Ray is selling him on a deal on how to GET RID of this excess inventory off the dealer's books. Excellent turnaround!

I try to emulate this approach when I've bought in the past. I don't think I'm quite up to this aggression level, but I try. My nature is to be a people pleaser and typically avoid confrontation so this does not come natural to me. However, I make sure that I go in there with a bit of a chip on my shoulder. With this approach you must be willing to walk. I want them to feel like they're forcing me to take a POS from them and I want nothing to do with it unless they're willing to bend over backwards.

That is how it’s done! Too many fall in love with this exact vehicle and let the dealer take control. In reality if they do the research, some one else has that same vehicle for sale somewhere else. Walk if they don’t budge. Great video! I noticed a couple of takeaways in your sketch.

I just left the car dealer after buying a used Nissan Frontier the salesperson was very nice they had no hidden fees very upfront and the price of the vehicle was fair and in the correct price range. Everything was going smoothly until I refused to buy their service contract. Then I got the silent treatment and they couldn't get me out the door fast enough. I have never bought contracts ever, and do my own work on my vehicles they did not accept that explanation and made a pleasant experience into a not-so-pleasant one. I bought the truck but they were not happy.

@PRD2HNT
@PRD2HNT Жыл бұрын
@@DanielSuarez-zn8iw this is good content and play but it’s not reality. There are so many holes in this no way I could comment long enough to get into it all. One thing they like to pick the exceptions and extremes like their video of price dropping on Jaguar and acting like it’s the whole market dropping that much. For instance very rare for any car to be on the lot for 125 days now day however if it is that means the dealer has already dropped it to a significantly lower price to blow it out. They would not discount another 3k on top. Granted which if it was the case and there was such a knowledgeable customer he would be sitting in that desk for a reason because price was already more than fair and dropped which would make sense to him. He may try to negotiate more but he isn’t leaving. If he is asking for a ridiculous dumb price they will gladly let him leave. Also how he says I’ll give you a chance for retail customer if they can get that same dollar amount at auction they would rather that than a retain customer especially one that speaks to a salesman like that. High chances of being a difficult customer leaving bad reviews and wanting the world every-time he comes in. Sell it at auction and no problem customer to have to deal with. Now don’t take me wrong I love these guys and I think what they are trying to do is awesome. There are many scumbags out there and the more educated they can make the average person the better. However this scenario is a skit and not realistic in any way. Only part of it that rubbed me the wrong way even tho it’s fake was the speaking down tk the sales rep if anyone thinks that will help them they are out of their mind. I know personally I have always went out of my way for the people I like and the a holes I take them to the bank. They may think they won but in reality that’s the true win to make a person like that think they won so they feel all proud as they are paying your bills with the commission check. I’m 100% for giving customers a great deal and a great experience. I would never try to take advantage of a customer as we want future business.

@@PRD2HNT I did really find your comment helpful and a lot of others would be I think what the guys are trying to do here is give ideas on what's the point to bring up while negotiating (it's like when we were in school and they would give you an example of 2apple and 2 apples make 4 apples it's not about apples it's about to know how to do additions) but if people take what they say and try to duplicate it will never work. one other point is people these days especially young people like myself we're really bad at negotiation or we don't have a good mechanism to negotiate so I think this video would do more good to people than bad. and if have any other advice for me I would be happy to hear them since I could assume you have experience with car sales! thanks

Even after watching just a few videos you walk away far more informed and and have a idea as to what to expect when going to a dealership. There website is awesome with lots of helpful information and videos to help you win....how can you fault that...unless your a dealer who hates to deal with people who know what they are doing. Yaa helps you not be a victim of bad dealerships.

I love the screen whip when you're supposed to talk to the sales manager but I can't help but wonder how good it would be if you just stood up, spun around and sat back down. Lol. You guys are halarious.

My favorite line in any negotiation is “best and final, do we have a deal” then set a timer and leave when it’s up.

One thing that I have learned over years of negotiating prices, is that no matter what the first offer is, it will be declined. Therefore, it is best to give them an extra low offer. Because, even if you give them fair offer is going to be declined, so give them one that’s lower, because you can always go up but you can’t always go down

I used that techniques buying a low mileage Cadillac XT4….i came in with a number in mind…15 minutes we had a deal, took longer to get the car detailed then buying it.

Bubbles bursting has nothing to with loans, but rather the perceived value of an asset. Housing market burst because the prices were unsustainable. Loans defaulting are something else. I find it interesting that as this channel has done an excellent job of documenting, prices rose quickly in the auto industry, primarily based on scarcity and YET lenders leaned into the loans, which to me is nuts. I would be interested in how much of the loan market is sub prime and lower. That would help dictate the level of concern. So if it is 20% of the market, and 5% of that value is represented by the 2021 and 2022 vintage, then that is the market we should be concerned about. With a quick glance of your charts, it would seem all the other vintages fall generally within the norm.

What I have learned about this style of aggressive pushing, it will befriend quick, and depending on the situation you better have your own Financials just in case. I use to go thru fleet for direct purchase they can only mark up 1% over invoice purchase price they paid for it, so to avoid all this back and forth, just ask for fleet and direct purchase the car.

This is funny cause I saw a car that's been on the lot for 278 days and was thinking about employing the same strategy. My closing line though was, "If you have to keep this car on the lot for 278 more days it's going to lose $5,000 in value. So let me have it for $5000 off right now, and you won't have it wasting space (and money) on your lot. That's my only offer, because if you don't like it, I can wait."

The biggest mistake people make is going to a dealership not knowing the “exact” car they want to buy. I mean by vin#, the precise car. Do all your research from home. If you need to test drive, go for it, but don’t start the “buying” process until you are actually buying.

I went to a dealer test drove the car took it home for a couple of days did research found they were priced about 2K over private party selling price based off Kelly Bluebook. Car Gurus said it was priced high as well. I went back said if they couldn’t negotiate sells price I didn’t want the car. They told me they couldn’t because they would only make $200 off the car. I left the dealership two days ago. Yesterday they dropped the price 1K, today they dropped it another $200, and called me today to let me know they could come down off the price. Be willing to walk away and they will most likely start working with you. 😊

What i want to know is how Ray got to ask for the $38,500? Why not $39,000 or $38,000? Or even less? What is he factoring in that allows him to know to ask for that amount?

Thank you for these videos!! Much needed. Would y’all say as a rule of thumb, that most dealers will not come down more than $3-5k off the total price so stick with that negotiation? Just want to get a gage of how much is reasonable to ask to be discounted.
