For a complete lesson on inscribed angles, go to www.MathHelp.com - 1000+ online math lessons featuring a personal math teacher inside every lesson! In this lesson, students learn the definition of an inscribed angle, and that the measure of an inscribed angle is equal to ½ the measure of its intercepted arc. Students also learn the following theorems related to inscribed angles. If two inscribed angles intercept the same arc, then the angles are congruent. An angle inscribed in a semicircle is a right angle. If a quadrilateral is inscribed in a semicircle, then opposite angles are supplementary. The measure of an angle formed by a chord and its tangent is half the measure of the intercepted arc. Students are then asked to find the missing measures of arcs and angles in given circles using these theorems.

@thekilmer09 the angles opposite each other are supplementary meaning they add up to 180, if you have 4 angles and 2 are supplementary to the other 2, that means that theres two 180's a.k.a. 360

It's not that our teachers are dumb and don't understand this, most of the time they are very intelligent. It is that sometimes they make it much more complicated than it really is.

wish I had a teacher who make think so simple and easy to understand like here. Better that mrs FINKEY who teach like ancient Rome oracles with pieces of codes. really she don't teach knowing that this is the first time this student take algebra and they don't know how to work them. and because is easy for here to solve the, she had that idea that everyone know it too.

how do anyone get 1/2 for x?
@queenoliviaross2433
@queenoliviaross2433 8 жыл бұрын
+montell573 It was a fraction meaning 1/2 or one half. She was using it to divide 132 in half even though there are easier ways to do it, she was showing the way several highschool and college math proffesors do it. 1 divided by 2 times 132 = 66. If you look at a scientific calc and do the problem like this: ( 1÷2 ) x 132 it will equal 132 :D I understand your confusion though.
