Loved it! I find I most struggle with sound. Everything I do is self taught but man, it’s tough really understanding how to use sound properly. Sound FX, easy enough. But music to drive emotion, that’s next level!

I see so many videos with no fancy editing, just holding the camera and vlogging away and they get thousands of views. Maybe depends on the niche like tech where you would expect more professional looking videos.

The mute test is really smart - I guess that also means checking the subtitles for the first few seconds at least and making sure they're accurate.

Omg that was so good. I am green bean in this whole KZfaq malarkey and didn't even know about the 5 sec mute rule. To be honest, I just turn on the camera and talk. No editing at all. Would love to do a few more visually interesting videos but so hard to know where to even start. Are there any great AI editing tools out there that help hobby creators like me who don't want to deep dive into the world of editing?

Yeah. This is really, really awesome stuff! I guess, with over 30 years of video editing under my belt, a lot of this has just come naturally. A tip, for sound effects... You can always search free ones on your own, online, and then layer them to your liking, to create something new and original. Have fun out out there, everyone!

TBH I prefer the long fly on the wall style shots. Some of the best scenes in history are one take. One take is the hardest to get right ask Gone with the Wind! Too much jumpcutting is exhausting to watch. The worse has to be the side camera. A person is explaining something to camera and there is another camera to the side trained on the side of their face locked off on a tripod they are not looking at. It is gimmicky and annoying and lets face it lazy. The other is PogChamp faces on thumbnails thats has got so bad nobody knows what the heck is going on.
