Been thinking of getting a set of the Martin Logan angled in ceiling speakers for my atmos. Do you know how well the ML type of tweeters mix with regular dome tweeters in the bed layer? I have a MK150 setup, but sadly their in ceilings dont have angled baffles like the ML ones do.

I will be using Klipsch jubilee‘s and 3 JTR Captivater subs. I will use 2 Captivator 4000ULF-TL next to the Jubilees, and 1 Captivator 4000ULF-ST as a near field behind the two Theater seating style seats. Room size would be 36’L x 24’W My dedicated home Theater room will be 24’ wide by 50’ long, with full JTR speakers, 27 8 12 bed layer, subs, atmos. Everything running with Trinnov processors and amps. With three rows of 5 for seating.

You do a good job on your posts Youthman. We have owned Klipsch Chorus II's and Academy center channel since 1997/1998. We use KG 2.5's mounted on omnimounts for back surrounds about 6 feet up on the wall..about 9 feet behind us. All speakers do have the Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms. I replaced all mostly due to curiosity, but wanted them to match ALL the speakers. I saved all the oems in case.Replaced all of them with Crites many years ago now. We do use 2 Klipsch subs and an Hsu one too. ( old ones too LOL) I am 60 now and will never replace my speakers as I (we) enjoy the sound so much. They still look brand new, even kept all original boxes. We listen most days we are in the house. All about choice for sure.... and yup, if you do not have a dedicated room for audio, all we could do is make the best of what we have for looks and that they sound good. Each have their own unique characteristics and were reviewed at different times, and in different rooms of my home. The 1723 were reviewed in my dedicated theater room which is properly treated, while the F200’s were reviewed in my living room with less than optimal acoustics, but typical of what most peoples living rooms would sound like. it’s really difficult to do an AB comparison, especially if you do not have them set up with switching so you can easily switch between speakers to hear the differences in real time. I wish I would’ve had more time with them so that I could put them in the same room and at least do some AB switching between them.

Really wish more companies would make things in piano black or white. IMO, wood veneer or wood-like synthetic are ok, but piano black or white blend better with a lot of modern decor living spaces.

This video just goes to show what a huge role personal preference plays in this hobby. No disrespect to anyone that likes them, but I cannot stand the sound of Klipsch speakers. My first ever girlfriend, back in Middle School, her Dad has these huge set of Klipsch towers. He loved classic rock and I thought he was the coolest Dad ever. One day I'm over at their house and he fires up those things, and all I could think was "please God, make it stop". I knew nothing about A/V back then, but I remember those speakers. Since then, I've tried several times to give Klipsch a chance, and after just a few minutes of listening I am always like "nope, not for me!" I am blown away that you've owned 50!

I love everything about klipsch except their horn tweeters. I find them very fatiguing, can’t listen much longer than 20 min. But they have great bass. Had a few of their subs over the years and they’ve all been great. Just wish their tweeters didn’t bother me so much :(

Once you hear a dedicated midrange driver, there is no going back to Klipsch. I almost bought a pair myself... But after auditioning Monitor Audio, Paradigm, Martin Logan and Focal speakers, I ended up getting Monitor Audio and later upgraded to Focal speakers. Klipsch might be great for the money, But two Crutchfield advisers told me, Focal runs circles over Klipsch RF7's.

All speakers in the herriage line as well as the RF7 run compression drivers. The heresy, forte and Cornwalls are all 3 ways deigns. The LaScala is a two way. And the flagship Jubilee is also a two way. I have never heard anyone saying the LaScala or a jubilee is soft on the midrange. But I do know the RP-8000 are known to be soft there. Can’t say the same for the RP-280. I think you need to hear more Klipsh before you make a blanked statement about the entire brand.

Gave me a smile seeing a man hug his speaker confession I do that myself sometimes no judgment here. Okay I’m thinking about getting the Klipsch 800 series. Long story short I have two Eddison they have all together 2 15’ woofers I put a JBL compression driver better crossover network into them. Now why I bring this up cause I want more space after 👂 kg Klipsch 800’s and the 8000’s have good bass I’m like sounds good enough for me I’m not looking to shake my neighbors, coffee table. At the time I bought those Edison speakers, I did not have credit with Best Buy like I have now so I settled for the furniture store stereos system I had an account with them since I was 18 bought allot of things there over the years the Edison stereo was not the best. I got a Yamaha AV receiver and worked with what I got with the 15’s the tweeters were crap that’s why I put a JBL horn compression driver in them better crossover network I did not want a light show. I wanted great sounding music. Plus I enjoy working on speakers so I’m pretty much still thinking on it. 41$ per month for Klipsch 800’s is a sweet deal the ones I have now are fine I thought about extra space I will have. Trust me I can say more in this comment cause I love talking bout speakers.

I have the Rf-7iii and the Martin Logan motion xtf-200 The xtf -200s simply best the rf-7iii in every aspect from the bass all the way up to the treble. You literally can’t put these two speakers on the same level
@Youthman
@Youthman 8 ай бұрын
In my room, the RF7 III had a bit more slam which makes since considering dual 10" woofers have more surface area than (3) 8" woofers. Two 10" = 157.08 Three 8" = 150.8 But I definitely prefer the midrange and smoother top end of the F200's. They are definitely on similar levels. Next level would be something like JTR or Ascendo, which neither the F200's or RF7 III's can remotely compete.

@Youthman
@Youthman 8 ай бұрын
For clarification, Klipsch has never sponsored my channel, nor has MartinLogan. The only channel sponsor I have had is Arendal Sound. Over the past 6 years, I have had many sponsored videos which are always disclosed. You never have to wonder whether a video is sponsored or if I have a sponsored relationship with a brand. I have always been transparent with my audience. With 920 videos on my channel, I don’t expect you to have seen all of them. I personally have a 2ch setup in my living room. I am reviewing a full Martin Logan Motion XT system with an HSU sub which is also in for review. Next, I’ll be swapping the HSU for dual MartinLogan subs.

I have been a home cinema enthusiast since the last 20 years started small and worked my way up, I was a B& W kind of guy. I think I am nearing a point where I have tried every speaker, projector, AV Receiver, you all know the drill, I have come to a point in my life where upgrading doesn’t thrill me any more as I really don’t see much point as to notice any difference I would have to spend 10’s of thousands of pounds dollars more to achieve anything better than what I have now, suppose I have equipment that you really can’t get any better as it is currently is the best. I owned B & W 702 S3 Left & Right & the HTM72 S3. I sold those for the RF-7 III Right & Left & the RC-64 III centre channel. What I noticed was the quality of the construction of the Klipsch versus B & W. B & W is way better built with the piano lacquered finish the Klipsch are good don’t get me wrong but not on par with B & W where the Klipsch do excel is in A home Cinema dedicated room, I run those through a dedicated power amplifier connected to a Denon top of the range AV receiver. Am I happy with Klipsch hell yes would I change them for another speaker definitely not they produce Movie music & sounds with aplomb. The Klipsch speakers are like Marmite for our North American friends please Google Marmite as you either love it or hate it, I love the Klipsch speakers I love the sound and the front sound stage is fantastic, what I don’t like too much are those 10’’ driver copper bin lids, they drive me wonky looking at them so I keep the front grilles on and they disappear. Looks like I will keep these Klipsch speakers forever I have no reason to sell them as they are a fantastic sounding speaker, I got them in black the centre was in natural cherry so I painted that one black did a fantastic job honestly you would never know it wasn’t factory and it matches the front L & R. Sorry you sold the Klipsch but you got to do what you got to do, move on and upwards. Newer is not necessarily better a speaker cabinet is a speaker cabinet with a driver in a tall oblong box they never change what the Klipsch RF 7 lll do is give that cinematic feel to a movie soundtrack that is what I noticed as the B & W’s never did was gave that Cinematic sound, Suppose you have a dedicated Cinema room with bigger speakers than the Klipsch for your front sound stage I am at a point where I have made the decision to say these Klipsch are the end of the speaker upgrade path for me at least I cant see me getting anything better as I would need to spend at least 10K more to get a better sound than my current speaker setup. That’s my rant, God Bless you Sir.
