ad speedup still works that' what I'm using to skip ads. Instead of removing ads, it makes them a lot faster so they only last around 2 seconds.

I miss when the skip button wasn’t so small and round and it said “skip ad/ads” instead of “skip”, when it had yellow spaces where the ads would play on the video’s progress bar, before “my ads center” existed, when it was a 5 second skip on the first ad, when ads had a dislike button, when it said “Ad” instead of “Sponsored”, when premium prices weren’t so high, when PiP worked on music videos, and when it said “ad in 3 2 1” now it’s just unexpected and out of nowhere, yt premium isn’t even worth it.
