2 weeks ago I made a video on LankyBox, and ever since then my youtube recommended feed has been filled with some of the most terrible, worst videos all designed for children. However, while yes it is fun to call these videos cringe and to meme on how awful youtube kids is. In this video, I move this cringe to the side and dig deeper into content designed for children. From the downfall of Minecraft Monster School, to the return of Elsagate. This is why KZfaq Kids is TERRIBLE

I honestly remember the old Monster School. Whenever it was girls vs boys, we’d bet on who would win and we were absolutely entertained by how simple and fun it was. Then we noticed it start to devolve into something horrific and mostly not even for kids as we clicked on the wrong one (now my memory’s a little fuzzy) and saw a pigmen draw something censored and then cuss out Herobine when he got an F. We were horrified and almost immediately shut the video off. Our poor, Minecraft obsessed selves didn’t need to see that.

To be honest, I’m honestly just convinced at this point that children shouldn’t be on KZfaq if they’re under the age of 13, or social media for that matter. These videos & tiktok are designed to make children stupider & something must be done about it! I’ve also heard on another KZfaq channel that people who have watched elsagate as kids, have said that got fetishes from it, when they grew up.

Recently I've done an internship at a primary school. And I was quite shocked on how those kinds of KZfaq videos have influenced the children. I knew about it but didn't expect it to be that bad. The children wanted to play "Rainbow Friends//Poppy Playtime/Garden of Banban" etc. with me on the playground. But even worse was how sexualized some of the kids perceived the world. I can only speak for myself, but when I was 6/7 years old I did not see everything so sexualized. A group of boys would constantly kick each other and make weird comments about it hurting in their balls. Or some were moaning constantly in a very very suggestive way. Some children even asked me very inapproriate questions/made inapproriate comments. That grossed me out. There was a lot more going on that shocked me, but whatever. I do think it's alright to entertain children. But this goes way too far and isn't just entertainment. This is quite serious from my point of view and I'm glad you've tackled this topic! Thank you :+)

@Fr0stBone
@Fr0stBone Жыл бұрын
@@faeyzaihsanulfikri9975 Of course these were only kids who caught my eye, because of their behaviour. I bet a lot of children consume this kind of content and still don't act that way. And there were still many kids, who behaved somewhat normal. I was still surprised at how many children seemed to be sorta obsessed with all this stuff. But I still might have to add, that the primary school is located in a part of my city where lots of people have a low level of education. And some of the children who acted that weird showed some subtle signs of neglect. So maybe that's a factor. I'm not a pedagogue tho, so idk if this makes any sense

I just want to mention that middle schoolers moan all the time. Trust me, I've gotten used to it at how much people at my school do it. I'll never get why they do it but they do. CONSTANTLY. But for elementary schoolers to moan and talk about balls is something new to me. I swear Tiktok should only allow users above 13. And KZfaq Kids shouldn't exist. At all. Honestly, I think it's best to have kids wait for what's worthwhile on the internet until they grow up enough to both be able to recognize and avoid content that's harmful - which varies for every kid and can frankly be difficult as an adult at times... So many of the stories on the internet I've seen have been inspiring and wonderful, but considering the stuff that is anything but, kids can wait until they learn how to be safe. I can stick to showing my family some good stories that I've known and loved, and that's honestly the best way I know how to keep my family safe from Elsagate. That and maybe I'll work some more on getting some distance from the internet so that I can give my family a better example, since I think a lot of kids' absorption into bad content comes from the same place it does in adults - addiction to easy dopamine fueled by exhaustion and/or stress. As much as I've loved some parts of the internet, I've gotten trapped in that cycle for way too much of my life and I'm scared that the same (and worse, considering Elsagate's revival) could happen to my family.

Sadly, people and large companies care more about making money than making quality kid's content. It's a real shame, kids don't even have their own websites anymore (i.e. a website like Neopets, which, yeah, is still up, but has heavily degraded in quality and more so caters to adults with nostalgia than anything). The fact of the matter is, the internet has changed a lot since us around 30 year olds were kids, and every website is being forced to make a lot of big decisions simply because kids are swarming over social medias like KZfaq and tumblr and twitter rather than websites entirely safe for them (which are few and far between). I just wish kids had their own places on the internet, I'm tired of all these stupid rules websites are being forced to make all because kids are using them. But, a lot of selfless companies/people with a lot of money would need to be involved to make any positive changes for us, and until then, kids will continue to lose their attention spans to these moronic videos.

At this point for the current state of quote-unquote, "Kids Content", they try so hard to catch up to the latest trends happening at that time and then pander it to the most naive audiences, that being kids under 7 years old. Kid's nowadays don't care about the quality of the videos they are watching, what they care about is if their favorite characters exist along with overly saturated colors taking over their screen. What I find interesting is that a bunch of these videos being called out aren't actually in YT Kids, but on the regular KZfaq platform we know and love (or hate). Monetization for kids content has became difficult after the first Elsagate occured (and COPPA too), and then these people making these dumpster fire animations and combine kid friendly content with things these creators (most likely adults) enjoy and turn it into a video and make a dollar or two. Instead of bothering to educate kids about certain topics, these dumb videos chose the route to trivialize serious topics, like infidelity for example, and make it seem like it's normal and acceptable, their intentions most of the time is to make kids desentisized to serious things.

I guess children between 2-8 years old are the most vulnerable to any side effects this content may have. Though, for me, it feels weird that such young children have unsupervised access to the internet. My parents allowed me some time on children's websites when I was 7+ years old, but I still was supervised. I still got messed up by some stuff on the internet in my pre-teen and teen years. I see what you're saying. I hope KZfaq tries their best to get rid of "Kid's content" like this but I don't think it would be easy. There will never be a conclusion where everyone stops. People put their fetishes and kinks into these videos and it's disgusting. I've seen a lot of stuff where they get characters from Garten of Ban-ban, Poppy Playtime, Sonic and more and make them do horrific things to please the their fetishes. The thumbnails are crazy too.

KZfaq videos for kids today are just so inappropriate that they are sad. You can teach your kids about pregnancy but not in this way. The characters they use and the ways they use it for trick children into wanting to watch more of these. Yeah, I don't want to watch these. I remember on one of the videos talking about these, they had a clip of a paw patrol video where (they stand on two legs for some reason and it was an animated one not an official paw patrol obviously) a dog needed to go pee so they went in a plastic bottle. In the next scene another dog is thirsty, they see the bottle and they drink the pee. Doesn't go well. And of course, the "kids video" has "piss" in the title (I remember searching the video and not finding it, probably removed), There has also been videos looked at (at the elsagate era) like mickey mouse babies getting kidnapped, cutting their parent's ear off, getting stuck in an elevator. Let your kids watch something good like Little Bear and not these disgusting videos.

Tips for yt kids: -You can block specific channels from ever being recommended. -The more bad things your kid watches, the worse the recommendations, but you can start from scratch by deleting the watch history, unsubscribing from all channels and removing likes from videos. If it's too hard to do all that, consider setting up a new account. -Take some time to look up good channels that your kid would also enjoy and subscribe to these. -Always take some time to check the kid's watch history. -Pay attention every once in a while to what your kid is watching.

I think the reason kids content has been getting worse is because whoever is in the business of making this content is deciding that kids just need to be occupied, not stimulated. The concern now is just keeping kids quiet and doing something easy to track rather than something to help their brains. I remember being a kid and watching things like Dinosaur Train or Phineas and Ferb. It was something for me to do, but it also stimulated me. I learned things, not always useful things, but I learned. Kids don't get that anymore because they aren't watching TV. They're watching tablets and youtube

Dan's videos are great and I love me some funny and dramatic minecraft videos, but kids can wait until they learn how to be safe. As for the trusted companies idea, that already kind of exists outside of KZfaq, but I agree that in terms of media, I could definitely show my family PBS Kids and a few good tv shows I've seen with a clean conscience.

There are many grasslike members of other flowering plant families, but only the approximately 10,000 species in the family Poaceae are true grasses. They are economically the most important of all flowering plants because of their nutritious grains and soil-forming function, and they have the most-widespread distribution and the largest number of individuals. Grasses provide forage for grazing animals, shelter for wildlife, construction materials, furniture, utensils

At the end of the day, you can't stop their lust for cash. People will always try to take advantage of others for their own gain. The real solution is to not put your kids in this kind of environment. Their too young to know right from wrong, so just parent your kids.
@Its_Asteria
@Its_Asteria Жыл бұрын
And unfortunately thats part of the problem too. Many parents don't give a shit and expect yt kids, by name alone, or any site that says "for kids" to be fine, and they'll leave their kid on that thing for hours. I see kids all the time running around with tablets with cased with handles built into them, at restaurants, at my job, my past job at a restaurant I saw it constantly, at my current job with claires I've seen it a few times, even when doing an ear piercing, rhe kids of the parent being pierced would be on a phone or tablet watching yt kids or watching coco melon. Or they'd be the younger siblings of the person being pierced while the parent stood there. Yes it keeps the kids entertained and it's a short moment but the fact that 1. This is in a public area and store and 2. The things they're watching don't seem too kid friendly, I had deep concern, but as an employee I can't say anything, this would not only anger the parent but I'd be reported for it and I'm not in the position to be fired right now. But realistically I've just noticed more people at the grocery store too, will give their kid a tablet while they shop. When I was younger I didn't have that I just asked my mom questions the whole time and spent the whole time telling her things because I wanted to talk to her, yeah I was annoying cause I don't stop talking (I still don't lmao) She recognized why I do that (ADHD) and entertained it and told me when to stop, rather than just giving me a tablet or phone to shut me up. I'm only 21 and I sound like an old fart tlking about those colorful tablets I see kids under the age of 8 running around with, but it's what I've seen, more than once. People have just grown lazy and they don't want to interact with their kids. Especially if their kid is ESPECIALLY annoying. But that's the point, kids aren't fully developed, they're going to be annoying. Things that make sense to adults, are questions for kids and those kids will ask those questions over and over and over

When I was a little kid the elsagate thing was in its more popular years from clicks off of little kids and I used to watch them with very limited access to KZfaq gladly my parents noticed what it had become at the time and I wasn't allowed KZfaq back until many years later

I kinda have a short attention span like these kids and these videos. I like the video where they have sounds and memes randomly placed in it. And I’m 20 years old. I blame my hdhd for that. But the stuff I used to watch when I was young were those videos where some kid moves around toy figures. Like LPS, pokemon, Gogo’s crazy bones and even ugly dolls. Also I watched Minecraft animations like the noob adventure, stop motion videos with Lego characters, mlp fan content and some other stuff. But I think we should just appreciate the fact that kids will watch their own thing that interests them and they won’t always grow up watching the stuff we watch on KZfaq back then. Time flows from one generation to the next. Who knows what kids will watch in a few years.
