Thank you for this amazing tutorial but we need Part 3 that shows the recycler view when minimizing layout, like youtube. now when minimizing layout gives just a root layout behind, I don't know how to get to the activity that contains recycle view content

Motion Layout is very handy. You can do very cool animations just with few clicks. Realize how hard will be build this with ObjectAnimator :)

That's just amazing ! Is it possible to do the same but using an item of the recycler view? Meaning when you click on / select an item of the Recycler View, this element can swipe up (and expend to match parent, like in this video ) and when you drag it down it can then get back to it's position on the list

good explanation but i don't think the bottom nav bar in youtube app actually disappears when we swipe down... also, I copied the youtube animation motion file that was shown in the android dev summit once , and it feels kinda not as quick as the youtube app has on swiping up or down , it kinda keeps floating and you constantly need to be pulling it. I haven't tried this one though yet.
