In this video, we'll walk you through some high level information about what an encoder (otherwise known as streaming software) is, some use cases for using it to live stream, and some basics on how to set one up. Streaming with an encoder is a great option for more highly produced live streams that require a more polished experience for viewers. Remember that each encoder has different capabilities, and will require different setups.

Please update the live stream encoder so there will be higher quality streams for gaming. Also if you could make it so 1080p video gets converted to vp9 from avc that would be awesome. 1080p game videos should look fine on KZfaq but if it isn't vp9 it looks quite bad. Basically if the team could find a way to get higher quality video on the platform that would be great. I know a lot of people use mobile and have caps on resolution but even on mobile streams can look quite bad because (I think) the encoder isn't that good. Or maybe I just stop trying to follow KZfaq recommended live streaming guidelines.

Am I supposed to be able to start a live stream directly from my encoder (Wirecast v13) without first starting it in Live Control Room? I don't seem to be able to do so, either with the RTMP option or Live Now in WIrecast. I was able to do so before KZfaq created this new Control Room. a few weeks ago.

Thank You for making these vids and sharing this info. I have been purchasing, the gear - cameras, a Powerful, High Frequency Computer, Massive SSD in addition to a bunch of Music and sound + video production gear and software... I'm pretty much good to go...as soon as I figure out how the set up and use this very high tech stuff...a lot of my gear is close to cutting edge with features and tech non existent less than a decade ago and is complex as it is versatile and powerful. So I welcome all the guidance I can get. I've come a very long way only to find out I have a VERY long way to go. So I've chosen the Journey itself - as my destination.

As a new creator going "LIVE' is a difficult task. The easiest setup is going live from a mobile device. My first broadcast was very difficult. I had to find third party software to stream from my phone. Also, the quality of the stream was not as good as my videos. I understand the qualifications to go live however, most creators film and stream from their mobile device. I'm able to go live on other platforms quick without all the hassle. Please allow more creators (smaller channels) the ability to stream live from mobile. This will help drive more traffic to our channels thus increasing watch time. Please get this to the right people and take this into consideration. TIA

It would be nice if KZfaq would update it's live stream codec to give higher quality. It is odd that I can get a higher quality with less resources from my PC at a lower bitrate on Twitch than KZfaq.
