i was glad that he was acquitted, until you mentioned that it was a 30 second interaction and what this could mean in the future of self defence laws in America. i’m quite divided

The fact that the jury was deadlocked I think proves that they were conflicted about the acquittal, understandably. However if the victim was called as a witness then I am not surprised that the shooter got off. The prankster obviously had zero remorse about his own actions that lead to the shooting. I’m not trying to victim blame here but while the shooting was unacceptable it wasn’t unprovoked. I don’t think the accused would’ve been charged at all had he just punched the prankster in the face even though people have died from beat downs in the past as well. I’d like to think that even in America people will see this for what it is, a very unlikeable victim and not a precedent for shooting someone for annoying you.

I think rather than be called a prank youtuber, he should called a piece of $h1t

I have a question- as an american- what are examples of public spaces teens can be in / for teens? Cuz thinking of where i've been...I actually can't think of much

I love this channel btw so not trying to be a troll or disagree. I do not agree with violence flat out unless in self defence or in defence of another (okay spiderman). I am not saying I agree with violence to end an awkward moment. However I think we also need to take into account that its a fairly big reaction to have against someone talking to you (or pestering) which indicated this man probably was non-typical functioning (mentally or due to other reasons), I have severe social anxiety and ADHD and know if someone was to do this to me I would likely do anything to get out of the situation asap. Hence why people like me should not carry guns. I feel we are moving in a direction where everones privacy and comfort is now fair game to make money. We will see more and more people striking out in these situations out because they cannot mentally handle it. If I was his lawyer I would have gone for an insanity plea...... and depending on his mental state I truly believe he is definitely not completely to blame.
