So melancholic... it's perfect without vocals... not all songs need vocals to make you feel something...

Abe’s drumming is insane

I have no idea what kind of aesthetic the Eros album art or it's many fan-made iterations fall under, but I'll be damned if it isn't the most oddly entrancing thing I've ever seen. SNW felt like a precursor but this hits the nail on the weird, indescribable head. Something about the use of water, sparing use of plant life, and warm, glowing colors with hints of dark green is incredible.

This and Smile man.... Makes me truly believe in the possibility that Eros may be thier magnum opus/finest work.... Rock gods plz let us be graced with this masterpiece at some point. Even if its thier final record what a way to honor Chi man. Deftones fan for 20+ years and they haven't faultered a beat.

Something special about the way this song is not finished/polished. It's at a point where you just can't touch it anymore. Chi's gone, and it's just beautiful the way it is.

The melody. It sounds so empty and sad, yet so beautiful, peaceful and nostalgic in a way. It takes me back to a place I’ve never been to and makes me miss someone I’ve never met.. if that makes sense. This is for sure my favorite Deftones track! Smile was pretty badass as well and I have a strong feeling that Eros could be their best and most important album, never to be heard. I do hope that we get the pleasure to listen to Eros one day. The perfect way for them to drop it, in my opinion, would be to release it as their final album and this piece of music right here should be the last track on it. As a farewell, an end of an era. I think this song is perfect the way it is. I love the dirtiness of the recordings, the realism, it feels like I am at band practice. Reminds me how everything is far away and dreamy in your mind. How nothing will ever be complete and somehow that's OK. Beautiful work of art

DEFTONES FOR LIFE

You may talk for hours about Tool's precision, perfection, mathematics behind the songwritng and composing, it's ok. Great respect for Tool... However if you want to know how emotions sound like, go listen to Deftones, cause they are the true masters of magicly picking, what's in your heart and soul, and transforming it into music. And if you feel empty, they will pour all of their best inside of you and make you feel alive again.

I've tried finding long and hard for more than 6 years something like the Deftones, people say Chevelle and Tool - but they have a different sound. This is so melancholic yet so much joy.

You can tell this album was probably excellent, as everybody was in MUCH higher spirits and more hooked together as a functioning unit writing music; than compared to Saturday Night Wrist

I wish they'd release Eros. I remember finding the Team Sleep demos just floating around the internet, I alot of them were bare bones and nothing like TS album. Chi was one of the bassists that inspired me to become a bass player.

Eros will be released one day. This album might be their best ever. But we will have to wait until that day to hear it in it's entirety. Until then, long live Deftones!

The og's remember. They were being so open with the making of eros more so than ever before, and ever again. They were giving us clips and studio updates, they played melanie, they brought td back and the hype was there. Pretty fucked how things turn out sometimes. Shout out to the old sl board.

One of the most anticipated albums yet to see release ever, it's still too painful for the band to revisit & complete it (Chino & Abe have stated it's about 75-80% done), but they seem more interested in moving forward & not going back. We may only see a retrospective release when the band is all said & done, if at all. A shame. Rest In Peace Chi Cheng, never forgotten 🙏

I’ve been a fan of the Deftones since “Adrenaline” came out when I was in high school. And hearing this makes me even sadder and angrier that Chi Cheng passed away. Besides losing an amazing musician this record sounds like it would have been up there with the best of the Deftones material!

Its been awhile now since GORE is out last year. Cant stop listening to any DEFTONES songs. They are an amazing band!!

The backdrop you made for this song fits the atmosphere of the track fucking perfectly honestly. It may not be finished per se but this is easily my favorite Deftones song and favorite vibe they've created.

Really hope this album drops someday. Didn't really vibe with Ohms and Gore, but this immediately brought me back to the Deftones I left on 24/7

I can taste the summer air as I drive listening to this for the first time....that was last year and I don't think that will ever leave me. Then suddenly I'm taken back to many years ago.....late night on the lake. Idk why this piece does so much for so many people perhaps it's the raw imperfections like the favorite scar on your high-school sweetheart that brings you to a sense of calm or normalcy, relatability... I'm not sure they even know the importance of this song...or maybe they do and that's why it is aloud to stay like this on this platform. Perhaps it's not even possible to alter this song any further because it would bring out a side of humanity that this world is not ready for...
