You can always rely on corpos to learn the wrong lesson as to why something was successful or unsuccessful (or at least miss the point). "A movie based on a toy made money? Well surely others will follow suit???" Not unless you get (and let) actual creative people genuinely attempt to make something. Ever since Avengers (2012) it feels like every studio has desperately wanted to recreate that success whilst doing none of the work/understanding why that worked.
