Synopsis:
DIL TO PAGAL HAI is the story of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), who does not believe in love. Rahul fails to understand how two people can spend their lives together.
It is the story of Pooja (Madhuri Dixit), who believes that there is someone who is made for her and she is destined to meet that person.
It is also the story of Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) who believes that love is friendship and one day her dream will come true.

At that time actresses were so much conscious about their image that so many of them rejected karishma's role as it was a supporting role and not the main role. But most of us today remembered this movie only because of this legendary dance sequence. I'm happy karishma even after being a star kid she always persued small roles she even did small tv serials.

I guess you are from the buddhi -Dhak Dhak / Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyaar Aaya Hai- watching generations 😂 DTPH was the rise of modern dance era, Karisma ate Madhuri - at least Bollywood had move on from mere basic pelvic thrust, jumping dance moves (excluding traditional dance) towards more creative contemporary dance forms. I guess you were too busy looking behind Madhuri's "choli ke piche" to even realise Madhuri lacks in modern dance department. IMHO only Rani Mukherji can nail both traditional and modern dance forms outstandingly. Now go cry in the corner.

Actually in my opinion , Bollywood have so many dancing queens who can beat Madhuri Dixit ji. Here , Karishma' s dance just overshadows Madhuri' s performance . Similarly in Devdas , Ashwariya Rai also did great job and give a challenge for Madhuri ji. Moreover , Shridevi ji, Hemamalini ji, Meenakshi Sheshadri ji and many more are amazing dancers.

sorry have you seen her dancing in song from pukar k sera sera watch it . Or just watch track of aaja nach le dance with me . Karishma is good dancer but Madhuri is legend . Madhuri don't just dance with her body but her with her expressions too. Her understanding of camera angles is far better than any competmporary actress . Sit back and just go through her dance numbers . Her moves her expressions are too notch. Though each actress had given their best in few songs but Madhuri shines in every song.

I will agree that for this song Karishma just nailed it and overpowered Madhuri clearly. but I guess that's how it was choroegraphed the intent of scene is to show that Karishma was dancing out of envy and jelousy . but that never proves that she is better dancer than Madhuri.

Sorry but that's not true , Madhuri danced as per character , she was dancing for fun . Karishma dance was to show envy . The entire theme was like that . So it is direct competition between Madhuri and Karishma but with characters . Madhuri did a very good job as per her character.
