Well, the localization team have been releasing the Falcom game one year after the Japanese release lately. So it not too surprising. I'm more surprised they announced the release date it so soon, though.

@@TheGashizmo I 100%ed the game and didn't feel like there was more cutscenes than in IX. If you consider the boss finishers cutscenes then sure, but "real" cutscenes, like at the start of the game when Grimson attacks the ships, there wasn't any more than in IX

@@experience_point6233 Well I feel all kinds of derp considering Like a Dragon was my most anticipated game. Currently playing it and finally have the class system unlocked. Now it's about grinding(even more than I have). As far as Final Fantasy goes, I rarely think about Square. I haven't really been wowed by one of their products in a long time and just can't bring myself to feel any excitement for or to bother remembering about it. The rest of those games you mentioned though I'll have to look into.

I played Y's 8, last month and I enjoyed it way more than I expected. I bought Ys 9 and was hoping for Ys 10 to be coming to the west soon. lol Now I really have to wrap up P3 Reload, Dragons dogma 2, Avowed, Hellblade 2, Stellar Blade , Black myth wokong and Ys 9, just in time for Ys 10. Not counting whatever else comes out this year. The endless backlog continues.

One of the great things about Ys is that the games aren't really text heavy like the Trails games are. So we can get the translated Ys games pretty quick compared to Trails. Can't wait for this to come out!

Looking forward to this! Even if you don't have it in your State of Play (which it should be btw), at least I'm glad it's being advertised on your channel. Although as i recall, Nintendo didn't put IX in their Direct, so you're partially off the hook.

You can play these games on their own for most part.

All the games have a connection to another in multiple ways, but they can all still be played independently from another. The only games you should really play one after the other would be Ys 1 and 2 considering 2 takes place directly after 1. But any game after that is really down to you.
