This particular synth sound seems to be Jindo's signature sound for Ys X, and what a great choice. Anyone who follows Jindo on Twitter knows he has a great fondness for older VGM, and this throwback-style synth is just perfect.

I'm not actually a huge fan of this kind of synth, just a personal taste thing, but hey, I'll take any Jindos I can at this point. Good stuff. edit: ok as it usually happens every time I say this, it's growing on me with every listen.

@@waypastlame Yeah I started listening to Falcom stuff with Oath in Felghana so that probably colored my tastes with regards to their music lol (and especially Jindo's tracks). I can still appreciate its quality though.

I used to think games nowadays were ass for trying to make their OSTs imitate big budget movies with generic orchestra scores. (FFXV, and XVI are the only good exceptions tho) But the current Ys games, Trails, Yakuza and others like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge will continue to make videogame music sound catchy and headbang-worthy.
