$300 for a bunch of samples I usually get for free with a purchase seems crazy! I’d rather put the $300 towards a ysl leather card holder/wallet and have a little luxury piece!

@@yulianagonzalez2428 it depends Lancôme and estee lauder are very very generous with any purchase. It could be a $50 foundation and they will include a travel size mascara eyeshadow and lipstick usually some perfume samples but not a dabber bottle usually a small vile

I thought the inside was so plain and disappointing. The stickers looked random and cheap to me. Personally, I liked the Dior so much better. It is so gorgeous! Thanks for the review!

I feel that none of these advent boxes are "worth it" ever. It's just a way for them to make more money off of stuff they want to get rid of. Especially skincare products

With the year that we all had i honeslty don't see an issue paying $300 for a box of mystery stuff. I feel like this is the 1 year that it's completely ok to just drop a few hundred dollars on something mega random like this. LOL. As they say 'no regerts' 🤣🤣 love your videos btw!!

Hello, Cindy! I love the YSL Advent Calendar.☺️ The red print is awesome and you have so many beauty items and mini fragrances by days.😊 Oh no one bottle was cracked, so disappointing. So many lippies, the shades are bright, that's a good idea if you don't like some you can gift them, especially so many holidays are ahead.👍 Thanks for the share.

I think they are selling the gift boxes for people that may want to regift items from the advent calendar so that it looks like a intentional gift for someone instead of something you don’t like. They really should have been specific about the box size and intentions.

I have wanted to treat myself to a lux brand advent calendar for a few years but I just can’t get over the fact that they include so many very bright shades of lipstick...there is no way these are their best sellers....why not include shades that are more wearable. This one is definitely one of the better ones , but the shades of lippies is just not doing it for me :( I’m so happy I found your channel however , through these advent calendar unboxings :)

Oh! If you're looking out for an advent calendar that would be 100% worth it, check out Yesstyle 2020 advent calendar ("Jet, set, glow"). It has mostly skincare Korean products, but all of them are good (like actually good brands and actually good products), and ALL of them are full-sized. I think this is the first calendar with totally worth value without a bunch of crap that wouldn't sell out in stores. I've just watched a review of the box and now wanna try it myself.

I’m actually considering buying this advent calendar. Loved the asthetic of the box, its really pretty. However the price for sample sizes, definitely not worth the money. None of those lipsticks would suite my shade so kinda glad i dodnt get sucked in. Only the perfumes seem like a good addition. I love how quickly you go through it, hate when youtubers ramble and shout.

So when you find a lipstick is too bright you can use a lipliner then just add the lipstick in the middle it looks nice . 👋🏼that’s what I do I am also tan and yes those colour don’t suit me

Great video, it would be nice to hear you talk about each product a little more and test them out for us to see. Like do swatches with the lipsticks, try on the perfumes and tell us what it smells like, things like that. Would give us a better idea on what we'd be spending our money on

Disappointed that I've gotten most of these as delux samples with other purchases. With the exception of the brush, make up remover and the highlighter, everything else has been a delux sample on Macy's or Sephora.

@@yulianagonzalez2428 In Sephora it varies between $40-$75 and you get either one lipstick or sometimes a lipstick, mascara and a primer. If you're already purchasing something, then it makes sense to just add that in your cart as the deluxe sample. Those mini lipsticks are worth $12.50 each and are usually available as delux samples with a $40 purchase on other things. You can also buy them with points sometimes. So if you buy a perfume when it's 4 points each you might be able to get one delux sample and also purchase another one with points.

Cindy because of you I was at the mall yesterday and kinda browsing Nordstrom and Macy’s and I didn’t find the Advent Calendar I have to order it in the website, however I found this awesome Holiday collection for Dior and has a White makeup bag included and it’s really pretty and the full size DreamSkin is the one that definitely sold me and it’s 15% off I was ecstatic😅🥰 So I wanted to let you know just in case😀 Love the YSL tho I think the individual box is looking more substantial but Dior is more fun print👍🏽

By gift box they must mean a cosmetic gift box, like gift with purchase, except that you had to pay for it. Purchase with purchase. But you couldn't really tell from the fact that they asked what samples you'd like because free samples often come with cosmetic/fragrance/skin care purchases.

Omg I would be so shattered too paying for that tiny gift box and also having the eye makeup remover leak!! But all the goodies are super cute! You should definitely give the bright colours a go, particular the stains and becuase they’re small sample sizes, you can test it out. I used to hate bright lipsticks too but I find sheering it out to have that ombré look works well and lip stains are perfect for that! I can’t wait to see what else you get! I’m totally getting excited for Christmas already and it’s only October 😂😂🎄

Ugh i don’t need any of this but i love it LOL. there were too many lipsticks for me and too bright like you said, but i love it. I love YSL. And the primer is to die for, i had to purchase full size bottle after trying the sample one at Sephora 😫

I agree they don’t fulfill the gift boxing request and their packaging is not up to standard as other high end luxury packaging. I ordered several lipsticks and nail polishes and I received the order shipped from their warehouse in Mississippi & it was not pretty . Nothing was damaged but it wasn’t exciting to open just a standard box with the regular packaging.

Would opt for this one over the Dior. The Dior design is gorgeous but you get more bang for your money with the YSL. Love the lil drawers too

At least they’re decent-ish sizes....they better be for $300. Did that bottle leak or they shortchanged you?!....Oh Hell Naw! Raise holy Hell....ask for the entire calendar to be replaced....it should have arrived in an immaculate condition for the price and the name the product carries.

You certainly get a lot for the money in this one (especially compared to the CT version) although it was rather heavy on the lipsticks! 😁💄 It's a shame about the make up remover, and the gift box episode was just ridiculous! I do like the design with the different sized drawers, great options for re-using next year. TFS Cindy! 💖

Now I buy YSL make up for about the last 15 years and they don’t have any large sized bags only bags that will fit make up not the advent calendar that’s why they sent the box instead and I’ve had three of the advent calendars 📆

Thank you for the review. I wish there were mini blushers or highlighters instead of so many lipsticks. Those lipstick colours won't suit my tanned skin, I think this would suit fairer tones. Ysl do nice smaller Christmas gift sets also. (Top Secrets is still my favourite primer)!

Is it worth it? I’ve seen also body shop advent calendar unboxing and for sure it’s cheaper than YSL. It’s just that still feeling of Christmas holidays where normally exchanging gifts that we can’t really do at the moment

Personally I thought the Dior one was better. The YSL one has way to many repetitive products (how many lip colours do you need? 🤷‍♀️). They should have balanced it out with more eye and nail products. I did like the look of the nail polish and brush though 👌

Yes I would have preferred more face and eye products, and maybe more vestiaire fragrances instead of duplicate lipsticks that I can’t wear under a mask 🤗 Thanks for watching!

Personally not sure about spending 300$ on this. Since almost all of the gifts are basically a sample size, they could’ve had a wayyyy smaller box. Seems like I would expect more and just be disappointed with this as a gift.

I agree although I do love the size of the box and reusable drawers - if you can get it with a discount it’s a much better value 🤗
