Yssaril’s flagship is awesome! The highest move value on any flagship- so it can keep up with your dreads. 2x5 is the best combat value on any flagship too. Looking at the stats alone it is well above average. Lightwave is just gravy, and especially good for sneaking objectives after other players have passed.

Great encompassing video as always! This time though I'd like to see something added, just a bit more in depth explanation of their stall abilities. The point with stall action is that it's an action, that is using it means you don't have to activate a system or use your strategy card (unlike every action card you've shown which are not actions and as such mean you would have to activate a system), just to emphasize this further, your turns as a Yssaril can be just you saying stall action and discarding a card, that's it, all of this applies to maegon as well. In addition, in scheming you draw 3 first then you chose a card from your hand and discard it, it doesn't have to be one of the 3 you drew. Again great series and very informative videos, I had fun following along.

An action card played can also be cancelled, preventing you from stalling. Using STALL TACTICS guarantees that your turn is "skipped"

True. I think playing an action card that is then sabotaged counts as your turn, though, resulting in a "stall" all the same, though?

People understimate the Flagship because the text is just Lightwave Deflectors, but it has the best base stats of any flagship in the game. Equal best combat and double base movement is a huge benefit - the only competition are the REALLY good flagships like Sol's and Letnev's. That said, the Yssaril are much more effective at threatening combat than actually doing combat - having the entire game deck as your hand of cards is well and good but in the end a good fleet with good combat bonuses is still a major threat, and most of the good combat action cards are one-per-deck.

Great race though... if you like to play sneaky. Just keep out of hard battles, you don't really have the capacity to battle unless your action cards allow it. (that's pretty much the story, you adapt to your action cards) Don't take to much heath, because you are not aggresive enough. Stack you rhand, wait for the perfect moment... and swoop for victory. Go all in, at the right moment. Just hope no one busts your hand, because without action cards, you are pretty much lost.

@@RulebreakerBoardgames It's the only race I ever won a game of TI with... And I came extremely close on one other moment. And I only played them twice. You just need to know when to strike, it's not a race that is straightforward. And I would advice getting your racial tech (like both them) early on. Because cards are super important. Since you are in green, your attack capabilities will be low. Like you really won't be as strong as people that go for red and yellow tech. I think it's good to upgrade your cruisers. You need movement, you need to be able to protect your base and lash out at the correct moment and flood that moment with right action cards. I like this race a lot honestly, but if people don't allow you to get minimal progress, and you have fairly aggressive neighbours, things will be really tough.

@@Ruperdepuup Hey man... Correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure TI3 has an action card that makes a person discard to a certain number (or even his/her entire hand).. I've played TI4 4 times... So I'm not sure if that card is still in there. I was looking at a list of action cards, but couldn't find one online right away. But in the end with this race, your hand has to be stacked, so you can do some crazy stuff while other players risk their own ships to get their last points. You can stall with the action cards that you don't need, and then go all in for one big swoop.

@@Ruperdepuup There is an agenda that makes you discard action cards. So, that's a thing you definitely save a veto for.

I know it’s a bad strategy but I recently played as the yssaril and had every action card in my possession played most of them in a few turns and won my one friend still won’t talk about it.😂

You can't pass before using Ur strategy card. You can use 'stall tactics' though. . Think u missed that.

i watched the whole series with a chill step playlist in the background just to add some underlying noise. You should look into some royalty free music to add that last little thing to take these from Awesome to PERFECT!

Wow, you watched a lot of my ramblings :) Music is one thing I know divides people a lot, so I try to keep it to a minimum. I've muted a lot of sports videos over the years due to the soundtrack playing along with them, and I wouldn't want someone to switch off here because they didn't like the music under the rest of the audio. I like the suggestion, but I think what you did yourself might be the best way to go. Let people put their own stuff on while they watch instead!

You should look into the Game of Thrones board game! With the different houses with individual house cards and abilities, it's brilliant. Also the Mother of Dragons expansion is great!
