Special summons arent the problem. Its the end boards. Generic negates need to go. Force decks to use their own win conditions. They did a good job banning borrel and baronne but Apollusa and some rank 8s also have to go. Also cards need to lock themselves into their own Archetype (or type/attribute, depending on the situation)

For this reason I think red dragon archfiend is fairly fair deck. A lot of your main combo cards lock you into dark dragon synchros/synchros, and the extra deck is almost entirely RDA monsters. Bystial dis pater being the one big exception.

link monsters were the worst thing to ever happen to yugioh tbh. barring specific archetypes extra decks are like universally the same now. at least with synchros and xyz there was SOME limitation on their summoning conditions

You just have to remember that Konami is a business and a gambling service.. buying packs is the same as throwing your money in a slot machine and pulling the reel then hope for the best! While they determine the odds. And toxic cards can make them a lot of money. If they lose money by banning or limiting cards then it’s not good for business. If they make a UR unlimited and short print it, people have to buy way more packs to get the 3 copies.. but if it’s limited they only buy the packs until they have the 1 copy allowed and they can stop spending..

The other problem is not just 18 hand traps, its that a lot of decks, esp not meta cant afford to run 18 hand trap or they risk bricking or they have a big engine, so they cant run 18 in a 40 card deck

Hot take: The power creep is fine if they'd just give us better board breakers / going second cards. More stuff like Typhon, DRNM that also hits the GY or something, hand traps to stop effects from hand. Currently the game is just so skewed towards going first.

The euphoria you experience from winning in competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! is unmatched. Regardless of how the game turns out, I'll still have that same kid inside of me itching for another duel. It's probably the most beautiful love-hate relationship most players have. For me personally no other game comes close to it. Broken format or not, I'm always down for a duel.

Mulcharmy Fuwaross last effect can be simplified to this: n+6 = your hand n = cards on your opponents field I will give an example to explain this as well: So if your opponent special summoned 10 times from their extra deck and ended on 1 monster (you did not activate any cards in hand on their turn besides Mulcharmy Fuwaross) you should have 14 cards in hand (-1 from activating Fuwaross) now we perform the math. They have 1 monster on the field so 1+6= your hand. If you have less cards than this you also do not have to shuffle your hand.

pre-AGOV Format for me is peak. No Deck felt unbeatable or broken, there was no 1 Card I thought was absolutly crazy... During that period I had the most fun going to locals in a long time. So I don't think power creep is the problem per se, I think it's the speed of the power creep. Like for example POTE or the release of Ishizus or Snake Eye and now Fiendsmith. That is just too fast! A continues but reasonable power creep is the ideal scenario but let's be honest, Konami is kinda greedy so they will continue to push that broken stuff out no matter what

I like how Pak and Nesh talked about diversity, you can laugh at what I’m about to say but I don’t care I like flip monsters especially mimighouls and Tindangles the reason is because it makes my brain working I can bet no one thought of Tindangle Runick since Runick prevents the battle phase and Tindangles want to be face down, or combining Mimighoul with Tindangles because you can add things and learn different things you would have never thought of than being look here’s another full combo

man i need them to give dark world some busted support or at least a way to play around hand traps without playing hand traps. and what i mean by that is release a dark world card that is in a sense there version of a hand trap negate if you discard and its discard effect is stopping an ash or a called by or something like that i feel that would be neat. but i am definitely siding this new maxx c.

It’s rare but there’s nothing stopping u from just activating feramosa going 1st. So if ur playing against a deck that plays on “turn 0” like lab, u can still side deck it going first. I don’t even want to think about if this existed back in tear format.

The answer is simple really. We... Enjoy... Playing... Yu-Gi-Oh!. And a duelist adapts to the game. I complain yes but I adapt like many others do. I almost quit as pendulum and Link Monsters were complex to me but... I decided to learn otherwise you will fall behind. "Instead of staying in the past, evolve" In terms of science why else you think Dinosaurs were so dominant? Because they adapted until mother nature said "Enough!" (In terms of science anyway)

The thing that i have with the banlist being in late August is that i'm a 100% sure that Snake Eye will die when the banlist ir released, the thing is taht of they released the banlist right now they will just make some consistency hits to Snake Eye and would still be the best deck in the format and we would be subject of at least another 3 months of Snake Eye even if other decks become viable like Unchained Yubel, if they just ban Ash and Flamberge the game is deck and they can let the whole Diabellestar package for White woods.

if this power creep continues make ash bloom not once per turn with the new maxx c and make and new type of imperm that activates from hand even if you have cards on field and unban called by which makes decks a bit inconsistent to combat this broken cards but its also a temporary patch for a problem that has lasted for years

I'm a returning player to Yu-Gi-Oh. I just play Master duel now though. I saw the snake eyes deck was tier 1 so I was excited to try it out. After crafting all the cards and spending over 4k gems. I had the deck made. Now time to practice.... My god I have never played a deck sooo boring just the same combo loop every game with little to no variants. I hate snake eyes and I won't play deck. It's unfun in a game I play just for fun. It needs to go.

Mulchummy is better than Maxx C for decks that play garnets, since it lets you run your garnet at 1 and just shuffle it back if it's in your opening hand.

for me, maxx C or similar cards are actually not a problem, the problem is the special summon system in yu gi oh which is now too excessive, put aside games like master duel or similar, in tcg or ocg alone which logically should be limited by physical and time constraints people can still do a lot of special summon combos and allow duels to be finished in just a few turns, maybe that's one way to make the match not too long to play, it's just that if you have to sacrifice the essence of countering decks in yu gioh it's clearly removed that it makes the game more boring than a long match, because in the end there is no deck balance because in the end people are not creative in arranging decks from the many cards in yu gi oh, people tend to use the same meta deck sometimes even just using the same deck, in the end yes in yu gi oh from the many cards used the same ones and make people leave, especially because the same meta deck makes people tend to collect the same cards so that the price of the cards goes up too high because players are aiming for the same deck, and clearly because in tournaments people don't get proper prizes make people leave, because the high price of the deck doesn't match what they get

Maxx C is not in Quarter Century Bonanza. It gets a confirmed reprint in speed duel. It doesnt mean anything, dandylion also got a reprint then a new version same as Maxx C with the mulcharmys. Maxx C could be in QCB if we get banned cards in it. I find it surprising that y'all dont talk about how 1 card combos are the problem. That allows decks to play so much non engine, which makes competent decks a problem if they have 1 card combos. Nobody would care if Dark Magician gets a circular like card. For snake eyes its insanity. Konami lost it since Tear and y'all just accept the powercreep. We need 2 card combos back and less space for handtraps in decks. I also i think Nib should be banned, it is really only here so people throw away old decks that cant play through it and pick up new decks that can play around it. Mulcharmy or Maxx C + Ash + Nib is such a overkill. If Nib gets banned then good, perfect if Ash gets banned alongside it. If you cant win while I let you draw cards without Nib + Ash, then you dont deserve to win at all.

I was always so against rotation in MTG & other card games, but I recently picked up Pokémon and it helps the power creep problem. Yugioh prices suck though
