It was expanded a bit more in the anime, mainly with some filler recaps, but I liked seeing her as a caring sister to try and get her brother back

She's pretty much Kaiba's foil and while I would've liked to see her duel more I don't think she was shafted like say Alexis or Akiza. It still seems kind of weird nobody knew she was competing in Battle City though - you'd think Kaiba would've just checked the registry or something when there was one finalist not accounted for.

I like to headcanon that Marik's original deck was Gravekeeper's, but when Yami Marik took over, he changed the entire deck to be torture themed.

I wish people give the same standard to Blair and also showed using Lightsworn like in Tag Force 3. But what do I know. This community is notorious biased against unpopular characters like Blair.

@@soukenmarufwt5224, Ishizu isn't that popular either. I think her revival came with Duel Links with the Gravekeepers being paired with her, and again when her Earth Fairy monsters received a re-train. I would also love to see an analysis and more support for Blair and the Lightsworns. Compared to the two, Lightsworns at least has a Link monster, whereas Gravekeepers only have a Fusion monster as their boss, and the entire archetype isn't as viable for play, but more so for fun and possibly rogue deck. Overall, I do agree that Blair and the Lightsworns should have support, so I'm with you there.

"Ishizu flipped the script." 😄 That is a nice description of how Ishizu trolled Kaiba to start the Battle City Tournament, drag Marik out of the shadows, and qualify as the 1/8 in the bracket.

Honestly, if she didn't stay on the script, and go try and take down obelisk to break down kaiba, she would've been in the top 4 of battle city, but she saw the best win scenario in her MI, and just ran with it as she for sure thought she would win

Man I love Ishizu she is one of my favorite female character designs in all female characters in series and she has deck support cards she rightfully deserves sadly her support cards ended up either limited or forbidden list which is really shame since her deck got much needed support for so long since their debuts in anime and manga

In nightmare troubador, Ishizu uses Reasoning to mill her own deck, and then Exchange of Spirit to return those milled cards to her deck (while your deck gets milled at the same time). Side note: Joey uses Dangerous Machine type 6 in that game, and its probably why he uses it in season 5 against Zigfried Von Schroder

And because the Tear cards basically weren't hit at all, they're going to combine with the Isis cards to make Master Duel unplayable starting tomorrow... It's worth noting that the current Exchange of the Spirit is the nerfed version. The pre-errata version only required the user to have 15 or more cards in the graveyard. The card got banned because you could combo it with pre-errata Makyura the Destructor to mill your opponent's whole deck before they entered their first draw phase.

Look up Dynasty of the Useless Armors. They are comically bad. It's a battle focus archetype. Battlin Boxers can't do it. Armors are less likely to do anything. Known for 1 good monster, 2 busted spells. The spells will be nerfed. And the other Armors won't do a thing, even if buffed.

It's great how a set of cards with terrible effects and little to no synergy with each other can be retrained into some of the most powerful cards in the game, all of which synergize perfectly with each other. Also great to see anime cards being able to take a previously mid deck, and make it nearly unstoppable as with Tearlaments. That rarely happens.

@@ChromaticEagle Partly. Mainly too many effects and a loss of character for the monsters stemming from it. Also these ridiculous restrictions on otherwise completely broken effects pumping up the word count. Old monsters had 1 or maybe 2 effects. Most of the time making them distinct. Jinzo for example has a simple 1 sentence effect and it made him distinct and iconic. Nowadays each boss monster has a couple of negates and maybe also a quick effect removal if Konami feels creative. Oh and dont forget the floating graveyard and on summon effects as well. Lets take for example Baronne, generic Synchro with a negate and destruction. Whats special about that monster? Something making it distinct? Nothing. Its bland. It has no character.

@@Kostas_Dikefalaios #Boomer. What you want boss monsters to be unplayable garbage like Sky Scourge monsters which are bootleg chaos monsters. Or just big beat sticks with zero protection. If a boss monster doesn't have crazy effects, negates, or immune to everything, then its trash. Its like you want cards to be a laughing stalk like Royal Knight of the Ice Barrier because of some absurd standard which shouldn't exist. #Cope

@@soukenmarufwt5224 The massive power creep is the reason for why it has come to this point. Thats what I am criticizing. Also the lack of creativity especially on the generic ones. Borrelload Savage Dragon? Negate. Appolousa? Negate. Baronne? Negate. Wow such creativity. 2 of these even have the same boring as 3k stat line. There are still some new unique boss monster effects but they are mostly part of rogue strategies.

I still just like that I recently am playing Legacy of the Duelist and did recently do the battle with Kaiba and Ishizu and seeing those old cards that I now recognize their new forms. I did also enjoy using Null and Void (or now Muko) on Kaiba's Pot of Greed.

Thing is people ask for retrains or support for the older cards...this time around Konami retrained all the Ishizu monsters and made them too good and surprisingly they had a good chemistry with Tearlaments. I'd say for the next time they want to do that, they should lock them to archetype specific, to keep everything fine and balanced if able.

I realize I'm old when I remember both Mudora and Kelbek being relatively decent, and at time scary, monsters in casual fairy decks some friend had. A lv4 monster that could easily get into the 2000+ attack range, which back in a slower and more brute force focused era was a big deal, and a monster that could be used to bounce a high lv monster your opponent tribute summoned.

Agido The Ancient Sentinel's effect reminds me of the manga-exclusive card Battlefield Ruin and the recently-defictionalized Battlefield Tragedy, used by Reiko Kitamori to ensure any attack done by the opponent would coat them dearly.

Anyone know how Necrovalley negates Exchange of Spirit? The wiki only says Necrovalley will negate it. I'm assuming the deck and graveyard simply won't swap. But the effect states EotS simply swaps the deck with the GY. Do you remove the cards from the GY and put your deck in there or does your GY become your deck and the deck becomes treated as the new GY?
