Fun note: during duelist kingdom whenever a monster is destroyed by an effect the controller takes half its ATK as damage meaning mirror force would double as a burn card

In Duelist Kingdom, it wasn't Mirror Force that damaged Weevil. In the DK rule (yes there were some) if a monster is destroyed by a card effect the player takes damage equal to half of the monster(s) ATK points.

The best part of Vrains to me will always be when Revolver was shown to have this super OP mystery card, only for it to turn out to be Mirror Force. Then from that point on they kept having him bring out old school trap cards like Magic Cylinder, Imperial Order, and even Mind Crush.

I remember when I was in school before I learned how to play the game, I attacked and my classmate activated Mirror force and he said that the card reflected the damage back to me (like magic cylinder) then I chained my own mirror force (It was probably set that turn idk) to reflect it back once more, I thought that it was a good play.

I think the "sneaky" play was because he couldn't get a real word in so he played his turn normally while weavil kept talking and running his mouth, was it underhanded yes...was it techically legal...techically with how I think it was played out.

I feel like you got the divine and light attributes mixed up. Radiant Mirror Force seems to be more in line with Divine beasts requiring 3 tributes, hence the requirement for 3 attack position monsters for its use. Shining Mirror Force is more in line with the whole light fairy counter trap Sanctuary in the Sky theme

Ranking very mirror force card from level power form worst to best 8: shining silver force 7:dark mirror force 6:radiant mirror force 5: drowning mirror force 4: mirror force 3:blazing mirror force 2:quaking mirror force 1: storming mirror force BTW I am not sure about the placement of quaking and drowning since they are weird compared to the others where drowning isnt as versatile since yoyiu need to control no monsters and quaking just doesn't effect link monsters

Dark Mirror Force would've been better and seen a lot more play if it affected Attack Position monsters instead of Defense Position monsters. Personally, I feel that the Mirror Force cards have different niches to fill. You wouldn't want to use Storming Mirror Force against a Deck that relies heavily on Summoning from the hand or the standard Mirror Force against a Graveyard oriented deck.

I could say that Mirror Force Launcher technically work in some decks’ favor because you can discard a monster that can summon itself out the graveyard and continue your combos that way.

During the duelist kingdom arc of Yu-Gi-Oh duel monsters, the fields where you place your cards on had a screen on top showing the opponents field. So technically yugi didn't do a misplay. It's just weevils fault he didn't notice yugi set a card, THEN he could've responded. Other than that I don't see how yugi performed anything wrong.

Considering they’re using dueling machines it might be a case similar to Yugioh games/dueling simulators, so it’s Weavil’s fault for not paying attention.

Shining silver force makes sense because, as a little trivia, mirrors used to be backed with silver to give them their reflective quality. We have since found other ways of doing it, but mirrors used to be made with silver, so silver force being a mirror force card makes sense.

The divine mirror force perfectly represent the God cards. When the gods are summoned they can't be affect by card effects on the turn they 're summoned.

Any variant is devastating in Duel Links. We don't have Main Phase 2 so there's no way to set up a defense after getting board wiped.

Mirror Force was the first UR i ever pulled in a physical pack. It will always have a place in my heart. With that said, Quaking Mirror Force is probably my favorite card in the archetype. I love cards that force monsters face down and remove the ability to flip them back face up.

Fun fact: In Yugioh Gx during season 2 Sartorios's sister used a bunch of mirror themed trap cards in a tag duel against Jaden and Aster.

I love quaking mirror force. Saved me more times than I can count because usually high atk monsters lack much defense.

i love drowning. in duel links its saved my butt so many times against the combo decks that wipe my monsters out before going for kill. they either play smart and destroy the trap or stupid and watch their precious synchro and xyz go back to the extra deck leaving them open for a beatdown.

Personally, even though they are long, the Japanese names for these cards sound better!

Mirror force rankings (my take) 1-og mirror force to helpful especially on links 2- Drowning mirror force is helpful but risky to use (especially in duel links 3- Quaking mirror force Definitely useful against non link decks a multi floodgate 4-Storming mirror force non targeting monster removal even non destructive to so bonus 5-Blazing mirror force is risky to use but can be a game ender in some ways. 6- Radiant mirror force situational but can be helpful against swarm decks 7- shining silver force very useful against spell/trap heavy decks that resolves around burn effect like trickstars for example. 8- mirror force launcher while not a real mirror force card still a great support card. 9-Dark mirror force only useful against Super heavy samurais and that's it Summary all pretty good cards and I would love to see a monster archtype based off these cards

I really love Quaking Mirror Force. You just waste your opponent's monster zones with face down monsters they can do very little with. It is also non-targeting which is a nice bonus.

In Arc-V era quaking mirror force is the one that gave me PTSD. I main Blackwing, and Fluffals that time. It's such a nightmare

As far as the fairness level of yugi setting Mirror Force on his opponent's turn, Weevil tossed Exodia off the side of a boat and by proxy nearly caused his best friend to drown while trying to recover them. Between slyly setting the card here and the Monsta Cardo episode later, yugi got even.

I really hope Mirror Force makes a triumphant return in Sevens just as it did in Vrains. Next to Yugi, Revolver is the king of Mirror Force.

7- Radiant Mirror Force, Only activates if your opponent has 3 or more attack position monsters 6- Dark Mirror Force, only punishes opponents who wants to play defensive and Super Heavy Samurai decks The list gets harder to rank, as the other mirror forces are great In their own ways 5- Mirror Force, while it can be searched, it just has the base mirror Force effect, but it has a ton of nostalgia 4- Storming Mirror Force, It only returns them to hand, punishing mostly extra deck monsters 3- Quaking mirror Force, It sets the monsters facedown permanently, making them unusual for most summons 2- Blazing Mirror Force, Not only does it destroy the monsters it also does damage, giving the chance to actually end duels with it 1- Drowning mirror Force, while it could be obvious sometimes, other times it can be used as a last resort if your opponent kills all of your monsters during the battle phase and thinks they can just go for game. The last 4 are amazing in their own rights, and are practically interchangeable, but some are just more game ending than others, and they have their own weaknesses, Storming only returns to hand, not hurting decks like monarchs much, Blazing is a destruction effect and can be ignored, plus if your opponent runs effect damage negation the card dies, Quaking Doesn't stop Fusion, Tribute and I think ritual summons, and Drowning only works on direct attacks

I've always liked the way "Holy Barrier - Mirror Force" sounded, I kinda wish they kept that name in the English version of the card

How each element mirror force match each attribute: Blazing: Deals effect damage to both players, which we call "burn" damage so it's painful and damaging like fire🔥. Dark: Banishes all defense monsters, which can be seen as attacking the helpless which is a dark move⚫. Drowning: Sends direct attack monsters to the deck, which can be imagined as being pushed back by a flood💧. Quaking: Permanently chages attack monsters face down, which is basically barying them beneath the ground🌎. Radiant: Destroyes all attack monsters if there's 3 or more, weaker OG version, but it's still viewed as reflecting light💡. Storming: Sends attacking monsters to the hand, which can be imagined as being lifted up by a tornado🌪. Shining: Counter trap that negates trap damage and destroyes face up S/T, can be considered as an act of God 😇.

Id say shining silver force and radiant mirror force should be switched for the attributes you listed. Shining is a term for LIGHT, and some of the most iconic light decks (i.e. sanctuary in the sky / solemn warning) are heavily based on counter traps, and negating both effect and battle damage. While radiant seems more of a heavenly term, and specifically only can activate if the opponent has 3 or more monsters, the same tribute required for a divine beast monster. As for the others... Majority of them are representative of their attributes most known feature, and most of them resemble or compliment the Monarchs abilities (Raiza = send to hand. Granmarg = destroy set monsters. Caius = banish cards. Thestalos = inflict damage) the only difference being Mobius and drowning mirror force sharing no resemblance

Back in '08 - '09 Mirror Force could've gotten you a hefty sum. I was at a Locals and the shop was looking to pay 40 dollars for a Mirror Force back then.

Drowning mirror force is the best cause things rarely negate shuffling back into the deck next would be wind as it returns too hand but that only means Ur oponent can pop off again tho the earth and dark mirror force would work well

My cousin and I would duel and I would occasionally set some cards face down early on. Funny thing is I do have mirror force in my deck. So some times I have 3 or more often 5 Set traps when he does for an attack. Me: Alright ok... so... what will it be today? Mirror Force... Mirror Force or Mirror Force?! Whenever I think of Mirror Force appearing in the anime I think of 5Ds when Crow has it set but doesn't use it and loses the duel as a result but it was to boost the guys confidence or something

Tbf, in duelest kingdom they were playing a different game. They didn't make up rules, it was just a much more complicated convoluted game. Like the wolrd of warcraft tcg... followed by hearthstone. Remeber before battle city kaiba used his positions as the owner of industrial illusions to change the rules to be more In Line with a card game.

Yugi in season 1 just had the prototype of blazing mirror force. Lol. But my faves to use is blazing mirror force and storming mirror force.

Against Weevil, Yugi placed the trap during his opponents turn. In Duelist Kingdom a lot of people activated spells and traps from their hand on the opponents turn, as well as setting monsters in the Spell/Trap zone as a trap. Also ground monsters can't hit flying monsters unless they are on a horse and machine monsters have immunity from spellcaster attacks. Duelist Kingdom was the wild west of yugioh, anything goes.

IMO the best ones are Quaking Mirror Force and Storming Mirror Force, no destruction, no banishing, nothing your opponent monsters can do.

My favorite is Storming Mirror Force, and I like more the Original names of the most of the cards, like the Odd Eyes hybrids
