This is "nope" from day one. Konami wanted to pull this crap? Nope. Vote with your wallet. I'm a big collector, but I've got plenty of room for "nope" like this. Go grab some ocg print just for the art and sleep well knowing that you didn't drop half a grand on something that will crash to 50% its value when it inevitably is reprinted. Hard. Pass.

I think we were spoiled with rarity collection in the sense that you're guaranteed to get multiple QCSRs per box, that is not the case for this set. Any of the QCSRs are rare to pull let alone the chase card of the set. From a casual perspective sure it sucks but it is always cool to have a set with a unbelievably rare card

My fear is that with no meta relevancy, it will just crash in a few months anyway. Then it can always be reprinted down the road. I'm mostly a collector and wouldn't be wheeling and dealing, so I'd hate to be on the sinking ship when it comes around.

I feel like with how much fusion support we have received in the past few years and how many generic engines can be splashed into decks, this WILL find some level of playability sooner or later. I've already had a few ideas of how it could be slotted into gate guardian with minimal compromises for example, I'm sure there are better uses. But I also think this will get a lower rarity reprint eventually as well, since it is a genuinely okay-ish and I would even say playable card rather than a gimmick

Out of 27 packs, I’m just glad I got some of the new Ice Barrier stuff. And a QCR Archfiend’s Advent. And the spright reprints were cool too. Anything else is a bonus.

DM player here. I want this card really bad. But I'd still sell it if I had it. The risk of reprint is to high and everyone buying it now will be pissed when it gets reprinted like stardust, no matter when that happens.

I agree. This is a solid $500 card due to card ratios and of how diffiicult it is for it to get pulled without losses. If anything this card itself will only go up in value as other QCRs and pulls will rotate out of meta and lose value. If it ever sees play and it is a solid $700 card. I mean. 3 Negates is no joke and having to out it with two of the same card type within the same turn is not very common, only deck i see doing this as of today is Tenpai and this is only because Tenpai is built going second with a whole ton of 3ofs board breakers

I think Konami's testing waters lately. They made Tenpai really cheap yet an archetype like Shining Sarcophagus expensive. They're making collector cards harder to access than meta. They want to see who's spending on packs

Well they made Tenpai cheap because of the snake-eyes backlash. Out of the last 4 or 5 things they have done, making Tenpai cheap was the only good one. Yet that deck flopped so far. They had to make something high rarity in that set and Shining Sarcophagus deck made sense due to collectors as you said, but also the sets have since 25th anniversary have plenty of QCRs. I dont think Ghost Rares and Starlights were given to So many cards in a set?

Scored today. Got one from a guy on marketplace for $220 NM. Dude works at Best Buy and doesn’t play but opened a couple packs when they came in his store and he pulled it. I feel like I got an insane deal.

That's honestly what I was hoping the card would go for and what I think most people would prefer paying for it. It really should be a $200-$300 card considering it's not meta relevant. It's price is surpassing that of S:P Little Knight even! Like, wtf?!! LOL

Dragon Master Magia has no application because it's not meta relevant. And the people who would play a Blue Eyes deck aren't gonna spend $450, so who is this card for? That's why people think it will crash, because there is the potential that after another product or 2 nobody will be thinking about this card.

Depending on how good the Blue-Eyes structure is, it might matter. We don't know if the support will make it playable in meta and we don't know if it will make DMM easier to summon in that deck.

@@House_Of_ChampsTrue, I’d argue 10K dragon is marketed and created to be purely as a collectors card. You can play it, but it’s very obviously a collectors card. Magia has more play though for Blue Eyes players. But either way, as a collector, I stay far away from modern stuff until months or years pass. For $500 a collector has way way better options.

One point you are ignoring is the value of the case. If we consider equal case value not including quarters. 10.000 dragon and utopia must have the same price than 12 quarters in terminal. (The 10.000 dragon case had only 1 “quarter” per 2 cases). The big difference today is that the magia is a quarter exclusive not only for collection. It’s difficult to predict a price under this circumstances

You don’t have to play an outside of the archetype chaos monster, and people somehow don’t understand this when discussing Magia. You can just use either of the CHAOS dragons that are made for Blue-Eyes. Chaos Max and mini Chaos Dragon both fulfill this fusion material. You can then use either a sub like Swamp which you showed, cheat it out with Fusion Armament, or dump it in grave and shuffle it back in.

@@House_Of_Champs Maybe. Maybe not. Seems to be holding pretty true when you compare to the number of QCRs you see on the market. I think needing more data is a bit copium since Komoney is under no obligation to not short print in side sets. And, I might add, they were scummy enough to sidestep being told to not shortprint in main sets by inflating the UR and Secret Rare totals with “junk” cards. Edit 2: At a minimum, with no duplicates, it’s 1 in 9 cases for just raw math. But we’ve already seen a lot more of most other QCRs than a select few, on the market or otherwise, indicating it is indeed even less than 1:9.

This card will be talked about all year, and so, since we probably December hmm post January ish get the Blue Structure, Structure been fire lately Blue will be tier 2 at worst, unless Konami is nutty it will be tier 1 support, but tier 2 for sure, if they like Tenpai i.e. you don't need it but make this card part of a higher power output, with the release post structure support I can see it getting wild. I just want a blue eyes link monster or Shinning dragon remake that is a xyz or fusion lol.

Magia was pulled at my locals and people cheered. The players that said “just buy the QCR you want” did not stop players from buying boxes to see which QCR was pulled. Epic moments like this is why I like product openings irl

I haven’t bought sealed product in years but I have had a lot of fun opening boxes this weekend. The all foil cards, the throwback archetypes, the chase cards. I want to call Terminal Revenge a winner.

This is just my two cents, but I do think it’ll experience a steep drop at some point. Apologies in advance since this comment will be fairly long winded. Like you and Ruxin pointed out in his video, it’s tough to gauge it since there’s no great comp. 10K dragon and Magician of Bonds and Unity are the closest comps, but those aren’t too great. 10K Dragon is a starlight and was printed in COVID, BLAR got bought up fast which helped it retain a high price. Bonds of Unity I agree simply just isn’t as cool of a card. But even that card started much higher than its current price point. Maybe Magia doesn’t fall as hard since technically Unity now has several prints, but I do think it’ll drop substantially. And ur point on it being a side set is very valid. That definitely should help it stick higher than it probably should. I think the biggest factor really is that the high end Yugioh market itself has tanked heavily. U pointed out that 10K dragon has fallen a lot compared to where it used to be, but u can name most of the high rarity cards from the last 4 years doing the same thing, if not all (I haven’t personally checked each and every Starlight / QCR / Collectors Rare / Ghost / Pharaoh Rare). Other people have commented their lack of confidence in the high end market, and I believe you would agree that their fears are valid. Even prior to Konami doing reprints like rarity collections, a lot of the high end cards were dropping, Konami really just helped torpedo them more. I legitimately would be surprised if Magia stayed above $400, 6+ months from now.

Extra note: I do think Ruxin made a great point on how SP is the most expensive QCR after Magia, and it taking SP to be one of the best meta cards to achieve its price. I just can’t see Magia staying up with SP, even tho SP has another rarity print and presumably reprints on the horizon.

This will 100% be reprinted in some other high rarity down the line. Modern Yugioh collecting is such a scam. For $500 you can be high end 1st ed Pokemom cards or OG 1st ed Yugioh cards.

So two days after release is what is setting the card? It sold at 800 now it’s halved. Look at astral utopia. 10k dragon. Ghost rare dark magician. Ghost rare dmg. It’s been two days.

It isn't "setting", in the video I said I personally expected a Monday buyout and from there it would enter the unpredictable cycle of ups and downs. The buyout just happened way faster than I thought

My problem with this card is that there's a Blue-Eyes structure down the line. If that structure makes this card playable and ends up being meta (which isn't likely, but could happen), then Blue-Eyes could be one of the most expensive meta decks in the game's history. And we just had Snake-Eyes and Kash formats with incredibly expensive top decks.

Unfortunately, the Blue-Eyes and the Dark Magician Structure decks may never come to the TCG just like other OCG products. Those two were released on 11/2023 while the some of the cards in BLTR were released on 12/23. By that logic, we should have those 2 SDs by now, but we don't even have any leads yet.

You can just extrapolate it out. Even if the print run of this set was 12,000,000 packs (which is a lot for a non-core set) and assuming equal distribution of QCR's that is only 2,400 copies of this card. This card is rare for what it is. Ten Thousand Dragon was one out of two-four boxes depending on whether you believe it as one "chase card" per case or every two as Starlights were which would be one out of every 24-48 boxes. Assuming the same print run for comparison, there would be between 5,000 to 10,000 (heh) of 10K cards.

Collecting and investing in Yugioh is waste of money because they reprinted everything to death is the biggest piece of scam. The starlight rare and modern high rare stuff are worthless now 💀. Even the old high end stuff is not safe from konami reprint madness.

Stop spoiling the secret lol, this card should not have been a qcsr at all. Let the card go down for those of us who do want to play it. I know, I know, I'm salty about what konami tried todo with this move, but it just sucks cause i would've had no issue spending 250 on it.
