At 39:02 the card doug tribute summons is Blizzard Princess, which can be summoned with 1 tribute if the tribute is a spellcaster, and he just happened to have a spellcaster on the field lmao

You can also target another monster as a quick effect, change it's position, and return Feedran to the hand. I'm sure it would go well in some deck. I feel like I've played a deck that proc their effects... digital bug maybe... Dream Clown and Crass Clown could work depending on your opponent's deck... there was that time that my opponent killed me with a wind-up rabbit/torrential tribute and Dark Hole deck... it was embarrassing, but could benefit from this dragon.

Was screaming to summon the Blizzard Princess the whole time, its a 1 tribute because it has to be a spellcaster and when you summon it your opponent cant use spells or traps till the end of the turn. It was one of the boss monsters on Duel Links when the Dark Magicians were top tier

That's how the characters in the anime play with the 4kids cards, there's no text, not even for the monster's names. I still remember that episode that Syrus refuses to use a card cause he doesn't remember what it does.

doug knows what expendable dai and ogre do and still chooses to take 5000 damage to be able to summon the ogre instead of just activating dai on his own turn to pop doomcal and drop ogre backed by moon mirror shield immediately after he was so close to greatness

Moon mirror shield and ogre are both pretty depressing in this format. Kinda just solos the enemy.

Yu-gi-oh without reading was quite literally how the anime was played. No duelists in the anime knew what cards could do besides previous knowledge, so they had to play smart with prediction. You couldn’t just ask your opponent what they played or what their play style was. This added a certain magic to dueling since you had to play around monsters you might not know about, changing how the duel progresses. However, IRL you just ask to read the opponents effects, throwing out any mystery or shock and just leaving you depressed while you watch your opponent combo. Honestly, if online dueling went back to the days when you couldn’t read cards mid-duel, the game would be much more exciting. More challenging as well but still exciting.

I learned some Japanese to play the Japanese version of Battle Spirits so I can slowly read the Yu-Gi-Oh card effects in Japanese. The hard part is that most sentences from a Yu-Gi-Oh card are much longer and more complex than most other card games as every effect has 4 conditions and 10 restrictions before even getting to the actual effect.

I've been bingeing the old master roulette videos, there SO good. I can't wait for them to be back.

an idea for a challenge just came to me as i was watching. its not fleshed out. you and your oppo can pull cards from anywhere, but you have to put every card in the deck. you can pull as many cards as you want as long as they can fit in your deck. so you can pull 5 packs to have 40 or 7 for 56 (if no ed mons). not sure how to deal with overflow from the last pack. the sr craft to unlock the pack can be scrapped or kept. the way i see this play out is that both of you would have to pick the best secret pack you think would both work as a minimal engine as well as good enough to beat whatever the oppo thinks up. you can also choose to include a min change limit, eg. you can both only choose to swap out 10 cards from your first 40-some pulls if that would make it more fun or skill based. copies over 3x just count as if you didnt pull them, OR maybe can be swapped to anything? like as a reward for bad luck. anyway the idea invaded my brain so i vomited it out. thanks for the content!
